Hangar 18 Indoor Climbing Gym - Riverside
Hangar 18 Indoor Climbing Gym - Riverside at a glance
Google reviewers rate the facility 4.6 out of 5 based on 269 reviews, frequently praising its spacious layout, air conditioning, and frequent route updates for bouldering, top rope, and lead climbing. Positive feedback also highlights competitive membership pricing and helpful staff for beginners and families. However, critical reviews consistently cite rude or overly strict front desk employees, repetitive heavy metal music, and a policy requiring new visitors to book instruction sessions rather than accepting walk-ins.

Review from Google · view on GoogleMediocre climbs grades seem very soft compared to other gyms. I hope you like screaming heavy metal music if you plan to go there. This guy with long hair that works the front desk only plays obnoxious metal music I guess he assumes everyone at the gym wants a headache while they're climbing.

Review from Google · view on GoogleEasily the best membership pricing and value in the IE/OC area. Staff is always available and helpful. The gym at this location is decent sized and is fully air conditioned - which is a plus. The climbing areas are always well-maintained and new routes are set regularly.

Review from Google · view on GoogleGood climbs, sometimes rude workers, but overall very nice. They update routes frequently, and the gym is kept mostly clean. I recommend this gym to beginner, intermediate, and intermediate-high level climbers.

Review from Google · view on GoogleEven though I had to wait about 20 minutes to get help to pay for day pass cause instructor was doing a private session everything else was good. I recommend all locations for training. Especially on rainy days

Review from Google · view on GoogleThe greatest choice I’ve made is to try rock climbing this year. I have loved every session I’ve had, every time I come here I feel peace. I can enjoy focusing my effort on a boulder or belay or I can meet people and try hard stuff together. It’s incredible how everyone can be so open and kind, whilst being so skilled in everything they attempt. I’m glad to be a member and I hope others try rock climbing at least once! Shoutout to the best gym in SoCal 🙌
