Anna Marie and team are amazing. She took care of my puppy and trained him while I was at work. He’s now super sweet and non-aggressive with dogs and humans. Now that he’s older I leave my dog with her when I’m traveling. I never worry. And I get such cute and happy pictures. I highly recommend.
Amazing services with good care
I can’t say enough good things about Anna Marie and Matthew! Working with a foster pup comes with its own unique challenges, and they’ve been so patient, knowledgeable, and supportive every step of the way. From the very beginning, they took the time to understand my dog’s personality and needs, and created a training approach that actually works for him—not just a one-size-fits-all method. I’ve already seen such a huge difference in his behavior, confidence, and overall happiness. What I appreciate most is how they’ve also helped me become a better, more confident handler. They explain everything in a way that’s easy to understand and always make sure we feel set up for success. If you’re looking for someone who truly cares about your dog and goes above and beyond, I highly recommend them. My foster pup is already on his way to becoming the best version of himself thanks to their help 💛
Grizzly has been under the care and training of Matt and Anne Marie for well over half a year now. Grizzly is a strong, smart and sensitive girl. We needed someone who was strong enough to walk her, but also someone who she trusted enough and could understand and not misinterpret her temperament . We are so lucky to have met Matthew and Anne Marie. They both make a great team and provide a good balance of energies. Grizzly is a particular dog that requires someone who can give her the attention and focused direction she needs; I am so happy to see how much Grizzly has begun to look forward to school and gets to play with other sweet big and small dogs!! Here is a list of reasons why I will continue to bring my pup to them: - their home is dedicated to their business - their partnership means they work together to ensure the safety, guidance and enrichment of their pups - they own well behaved dogs, Bubba and Olli - they are super down to earth, kind people - Matt specializes in reactivity training and their home offers a perfect environment for supervised play time - they are flexible and are always so thoughtful of our needs, esp of Grizzly - they send the BEST update pics and videos of Grizzly girl I found Happy Heart online after searching for a new boarder for our rottie girl grizzly. At first I noticed their prices were a lot higher than the average rover sitter - but most of the profiles I found online didn't accept a large dog or even rottweiler breed due to their HOA rules etc, not to mention, caring for a large dog like grizzly would require someone with extensive dog experience... In the end, the choice to go with someone more experienced was a priority for me - the initial investment (behavioral assessment, meet and greet etc) was well worth it!! We are happy to continue having Matt & Anne Marie look after Grizz. Searching for a boarder and trainer was tough. I have visited local dog "playhouses" and even interviewed a couple of other online sitters too. There are many reasons why I would rather take grizzly to a specialized care in a home versus a large play pen that isn't far off from a zoo..But at Matt & Anne Marie's house, I know Grizz is in great hands while boarding or for sleep overs!
Anna Marie and Mathew, the principals of Happy Heart Pet Care, came highly recommended to work with my functionally feral Welsh terrier—and somehow they still managed to exceed my already high expectations. What they accomplished was nothing short of remarkable. They are consummate professionals with deep experience, an intuitive and almost uncanny understanding of dog behavior, and a genuine love for dogs that shows in every interaction. Their patience, insight, and commitment to excellence transformed what felt like an impossible situation into a genuine success story. I’ve worked with dog trainers in Los Angeles, New York, and Arizona, and without hesitation I can say: Happy Heart Pet Care is the leader of the pack. I cannot put into words how happy I am with Happy heart. Not only because my boys, two younger miniature schnauzers, had a great time and came back, tired and excited and full of life. But because I had a horrible experience at another pet hotel, so I’ve been incredibly trepidation about leaving them with anyone. From the moment I spoke to Anna Marie I was taken in by her energy and passion. When she met my boys They acted like they had met her before and she was an old friend. She is incredibly communicative, professional, and kind. If you were looking for training or boarding or any service that they offer, I cannot recommend them enough as there are certain people who are born to do what they do And we are also so lucky that she has services here in West Hollywood. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for taking my fear away and for creating a safe place for my boys to play and learn. The two photos are of them right when they came home from being with her.
I can’t say enough about Anna at Happy Heart Pet Care. My dog was reactive, aggressive, barked at everything… I had just moved into a new place ( with a broken ankle!) and was beyond stressed. I was desperate for help. ANNA to the rescue. My dog Birdie went to day- training for two weeks and was a different dog when the two weeks were over. She learned basic commands, was socialized and spent time amongst other dogs ( wasn’t going to happen before training, sadly) She did wonders for my dog and my family. We needed training too ;-) everybody is happier! Can’t recommend enough!
Happy Heart Pet Care aren't just a dog sitters – they're heaven sends for us. Our odd couple, the suspicious, a rescued tea cup breeder reject named Big Boy (who was too big to sell), and his big brother, the curbside schnauzer, Bernard, always return from her care exhausted, content, and somehow better behaved (temporarily, we're not as consistent and awesome at training dogs as Anna). Before meeting Anna, Bernard was the model of canine obedience. Then Big Boy entered his life – a pint-sized revolutionary with subversive ideas about command compliance. Perhaps it's her infinite patience, her understanding of doggy psychology, or her refusal to be manipulated by Big Boy's innocent act. Whatever Anna's secret, our troublemakers return home with that rare combination of complete satisfaction and healthy fatigue. We've stopped apologizing for our dogs' antics when dropping them off. Anna handles their shenanigans with grace, treating their partnership with love and charm rather than the headache we know it can be. Cannot recommend her enough. Anna isn't just watching our dogs – she's giving us peace of mind wrapped in unconditional love. WE love her and cannot recommend eher enough.
I originally found Happy Heart Pet Care after an extensive search to find a dog trainer. I received a referral through a trusted community I'm a part of. I read about Anna Marie & Matthew and their exemplary relationship with their training clients and their experience with them getting great results. I was having challenges with my doodle puppy biting and misbehaving as well as I needed potty training for him. Having a large family with many young children, I was at my wits end. I gave Anna Marie a call and she spent time with me and my husband explaining her process and helped detail a plan to help us with our puppy. We scheduled an assessment to meet and my puppy Malibu fell in love with her as me and my kids. We decided on a board and train and were very pleased with the results. Malibu was taught obedience training and stopped having accidents in the house. We were very happy but having a busy schedule we didn't stay as consistent as we needed so inevitably needed guidance to help get us back on track. Anna Marie was very patient, communicative, and helpful guiding us along the process as we needed training as well. We continued training and each session we received coaching and notes when needed to correct what we were not doing or doing wrong. Anytime I need a question answered from early on when my Mali (before we started training) ingested something he shouldn't have there Anna Marie was available and supportive saving me thousands of dollars in vet fees. She's always there to answer any questions I have regardless of her extremely busy schedule. How many dog trainers take such a personal approach to their work?! Her partner Matthew is a great support as well as he is a trainer so you are getting two trainers to help support you and your family with your puppy/dog. Invaluable for a dog trainer(s)! We have the best behaved, well mannered pup and are extremely grateful to them. Highly recommend Happy Heart Pet Care for dog boarding and training!
