My daughter has had some tutoring sessions with Howard that started this summer. He has been excellent. My daughter said he is able to explain things very well, in a clear way, that she understands. She has been in the enhanced math track in the Irvine school district and is going into high school next year. Howard knows the IUSD curriculum and the content that is covered so it has been very helpful for her to be able to review the material that was covered in eighth grade and also start learning the material that will be covered in ninth grade in the enhanced track. Howard is also very accommodating with the scheduling and a nice person to work with. We plan to continue throughout the academic year. So glad we listened to the recommendation given to us by our friend. Thank you, Howard!
Helpful and accommodative! My son has been coming here for about 6 months and they have been great. They have been flexible in accommodating extra help around tests. Highly recommend.
I am currently a senior and have been with HEC Tutoring for all of high school. I can’t describe how helpful it has been to get support with classes and even college applications. Mr. Hwang is very knowledgeable and has helped me with math for many years and currently my college applications.
I came in with little to no knowledge of how the sat worked, it’s strategies, and how to be prepared for it but after about a month of so of coming here I can confidently say I’m ready for the sat. HEC is the main reason for that and I’m happy I joined them.
The tutors at HEC tutoring helped me study for the SAT and guided me through the essay wring process for college apps. I saw immediate improvement in my SAT score after two weeks! The tutor also helped revise my essays. She was very professional!

The only place I have received tutoring at in my 4 years of high school. I've taken all sorts of tutoring here, from precalc to SAT to SAT Subject tests. I improved my SAT score from a 1440 to a 1570, my Math Subject test from a 700 to 800, US History from 720 to 800, and many more. His lessons and other tutors are engaging, challenging, and provide many tips and tricks for learning. I couldn't have asked for a better experience here.
I took my summer ACT class here and got amazing results. I began with a constant score of 26 but after one summer of lessons, my score rose to around 30-32.The class consisted of constant practice of past registered ACT exams (in a real test setting) and reviewing and learning main topics on the test. I took this course the summer before sophomore year and when I was required to take the PACT, I scored a 34 and had a predicted score of 32-35. The results showed immense growth. Plus I made some great friends along the way!
