Customers frequently praise the team for punctuality, clear communication, and high-quality workmanship on custom wood and aluminum fences, including repairs and installations on difficult terrain. The owner is noted for being responsive and flexible with scheduling and design requests. However, two identical one-star reviews allege that the owner failed to complete a previous project in North Carolina and dissolved that business without performing the work, advising caution regarding past business practices.

Jake Beerman, the owner of Heron Building Co ran a fence company in Raleigh, North Carolina called Freedom Fence Builders. I paid a $7,200 deposit on an aluminum fence to be installed on December 7, 2021.He never did any work on that fence whatsoever. On September 30, 2022 he filed a Notice of Dissolution. Be very careful who you do business with.
Chris and Kevin Did a fantastic job on my fence. They worked fast and efficiently and we really appreciate the work they did. I would highly recommend Heron Fence. They followed through with a thorough plan great customer service!
Thank you for the awesome feedback, Jared! And always appreciate when the people behind all the hard work get a shout out. We appreciate you. Welcome to the Heron family!
Chris and Kevin repaired our fence after a 150 year old Oak Tree that fell on it. They did a fantastic job!!!!!
Thank you so much for letting us bring back the beauty of your fence! We so appreciate you. Welcome to the Heron family!
Heron is an artisanal company that can compete with anyone on speed, accuracy, professionalism, and cost. I got a stick-built wood fence that makes the yard look amazing. But it is also the little things, like the way they trimmed back the trees, prepared the ground, and even hauled away the remains of the old fence. I highly recommend.
David, thank you so much for the raving review! More than that, thank you for your trust. The new fence is a beautiful addition to your backyard and know it will serve you well! Welcome to the Heron Family!
Exceptional work building my fence by Chris and Kevin with Heron Building co. They had to trouble shoot uneven ground in my yard and kept me in the loop on all things. The work was performed quickly and efficiently. I recommend this company for the stellar customer service and workmanship.

We hired Heron to do some repairs to our aluminum fence and add an additional gate. The crew was very friendly, showed up on time and worked with us to troubleshoot a couple issues. We are very happy with the results and quality of work.
Thank you Kevin! Glad we could help you with this project and get the opportunity to work with you. Welcome to the Heron family!
This was a challenging project involving rough and rocky terrain and coordination with overlapping construction. I appreciate Jake working with me and explaining my options. The installation exceeded expectations. Chris and Kevin performed exceptionally well in a difficult environment with their attention to detail and professionalism. Highly recommend.
You’re not wrong, Rob - that was a challenging project, but Chris and Kevin put their heads down and did a standup job. Thank you for the trust and being so easy to work with. Welcome to the Heron family!
The gentlemen repairing our fence - Chris and Kevin - were fantastic! We asked the to match two different styles AND move a gate for us. Chris and Kevin understood exactly what we wanted, kept us informed during the process, and cleaned everything up after they were done. If it weren’t for the new fence I wouldn’t know they had been here. We will definitely use them again if we have fencing needs.
That’s the kind of feedback we love to hear! Thank you so much Kevin and welcome to the Heron family!
Great job! Chris and Kevin even worked through the heatwave to get it done!!!
Thank you David and Laurie! It sure was a hot week, but they set their minds to it. It was a joy working with you. Welcome to the Heron family!
