As a wedding photographer with 15 years of experience capturing weddings here in Tucson, I have worked with countless venues and coordinating teams. I can say with absolute certainty that the team running the wedding on 10/2/2026 was one of the most remarkable, professional, and composed crews I have ever had the pleasure of working alongside.<br><br>From the very start at the rehearsal, I knew this experience was going to be different. The team was completely on top of everything, taking the time to brief the bridal party on crucial logistical details that most venues and coordinators completely overlook. What impressed me even more was their incredible patience. Rehearsals can be chaotic, and they were working with some very excited, heavily celebrating bridal party members who were not the most disciplined crowd. Instead of getting frustrated, the team maintained an even-keeled, calm, and deeply respectful attitude that kept the energy positive and things moving forward.<br><br>On the day of the wedding, they went entirely above and beyond to ensure everything ran seamlessly. They clearly understand the tight constraints of a wedding day and intentionally built in proper cushion time to protect the couple against unexpected issues. Whenever minor hiccups did arise—as they always do—the team met and exceeded every expectation to solve them quietly, keeping the couple completely happy, stress-free, and on time.<br><br>This was hands-down one of the most stress-free weddings of my entire career. They made my job managing the timeline incredibly easy, which allowed me to focus entirely on getting every single perfect picture captured. I applaud Bates Mansion for putting together such an A+ team.<br><br>If you are a couple looking for a venue that will truly protect your peace of mind and execute your day flawlessly, look no further.

Historic Bates Mansion was such an incredible venue to photograph! Vanessa and Jerry were amazing to work with and were so helpful throughout the entire day. The space itself is absolutely beautiful with a moody, romantic atmosphere that photographs so well. All of the candlelight throughout the mansion was such a vibe and made the reception feel especially intimate and elegant. Their party bus shuttle to and from the cathedral was also a huge plus. We were running a little behind schedule and having transportation already handled made getting everyone where they needed to be so much easier. Lindsay and Bailey on the coordination team were excellent as well. They were organized, helpful and great to work alongside, which makes such a difference for the entire vendor team. As a Tucson wedding photographer, I would absolutely recommend Historic Bates Mansion to couples looking for a venue with tons of character and a completely different feel from a traditional ballroom. I loved photographing here and already can’t wait for the next one!

Great venue

The bartenders were outstanding and so personable. They created an environment of excitement as well as comfort. Selina and Christina are the best!
