*Update October 19th 2026* To the Managing Broker’s response below: deflective corporate statements do not change the facts. This review was never about a landlord’s ultimate right to choose an applicant, it was about your agency's complete lack of professional standards.
Claiming the agent "did what she could" is demonstrably false. "Doing what she could" does not include repeatedly missing agreed-upon deadlines, going completely silent for days while a family operates on a hard housing timeline, promising off-market alternative properties that were never delivered, and hiding behind canned late-night text messages.
Furthermore, claiming the decision was strictly out of your hands while the property remains actively listed and the sign remains on the lawn only highlights the lack of transparency. Owning operational failures and basic communication breakdowns is part of running a professional brokerage. My original review stands.
Deals fall through & dont work out, okay, fine, but, I am leaving this review to hopefully help both prospective tenants and property owners to use caution when choosing House Select Realtys listing agent LizBeth and managing broker Henri Vasquez.
We followed the agents every request, submitted formal applications with an exceptional financial package offering above security deposit (upon agent asking) & full 1st months rent despite late move in, with proving strong, stable income, long term employment stability. Rather than managing the transaction with basic standards, the listing agent went into prolonged radio silence, repeatedly missing agreed upon follow up deadlines while offering & promising assistance looking for alternative properties that never materialized.
When the breakdown in communication threatened our strict noted timeline, we escalated the matter directly to managing broker. Despite assurances that the firm would handle the situation and provide timely updates, they continued to demonstrate a lack of operational oversight, culminating in a generic late night text rejection days after key decisions were apparently made.
For property owners: this brokerage's conduct risks alienating well qualified, low risk applicants with substantial financial backing.
For tenants: rely on this firm only if you can afford unfulfilled promises, zero transparency, and severe delays.

My wife and I worked with Liz when buying our first home, and she did amazing work. As first time home buyers we had lots of questions, and Liz was very knowledgeable and vety patient with us. She did great work in scheduling our viewings, and adapted immediately when one of the viewings fell through.
She also did amazing work once we decided to put in an offer. As first time buyers we weren't sure how much to offer, but she quickly researched other sales in the area and came up with a price that was competitive yet lower than what we would have thought! She then wasted no time sending in the offer, allowing us to beat other potential buyers to the punch, and our offer was accepted.
Her amazing work did not end there either. We got our house inspector and real estate attorney on her recommendation, both of whom did great work. She also kept in touch throughout the process.
I would strongly recommend her and House Select Realty to everyone.

Henri has been remarkable from the very beginning. I got lucky when I asked my dental hygienist for a recommendation on a realtor in the Fox Valley... let's just say I will definitely have something to talk about at my next teeth cleaning because Henri is AWESOME.
During my first phone call I already knew he was the guy. Friendly but GENUINELY friendly. He sent us MLS access and listings pretty much immediately. If I wanted to see a home? He'd say when do you want to see it and the next day we were there!
He is SO knowledgeable about homes. If you want someone to unlock the door and let you loose this is not your guy (also, that's a horrible idea) Henri lets you look at everything but he is literally the best GUIDE you could ask for. We would walk up to a home and he's already pointing out how the roof is sagging or that the foundation has shifted away from the driveway... He's explaining why, what that costs to fix... He's NOT trying to sell you a home!!! He doesn't act like a salesman at all.
He is like a walking home encyclopedia, giving you information about everything you see and letting you make the best, and well informed decision you can.
When we knew we found the one... We didn't think we would get it. I had saw it go up the night before and Henri took us first thing the next morning, where we had someone try to come in while we were looking AND we saw a car pull up to look when we were on the way out.
But he knew every trick to help us win. Our offer was squeaky clean and enticing but NOT insane or way over asking...but there were several other offers trying to beat us out, including a cash offer. We started looking at other homes because well.. we weren't getting it, right?
Well....Henri turned into a FIGHTER and a negotiation specialist! He remained perfectly honest and genuine in convincing them that we were the best choice! Nothing crazy... He just convinced them to go with us.
And....WE GOT THE HOME!!!! He called me to tell me the night he found out and I think he had to say "they took our offer"..."we got the house" more than once because I kept saying "...what?" 🤣🤯🏠
Henri also doesn't disappear on you when the home is under contract! He is still readily available and extremely responsive about anything from recommendations on movers/lenders/whoever to talking about inspection results. I love that he's just a text or email away and someone is actually "holding our hand" through this process. He really loves helping people and it shows.
He's just an incredible realtor and person. I'm so glad we got to meet him and work with him. 100% recommend him!!
