We are forever grateful that we chose to partner with Brenda and the HouseLift team on our remodel. Our project faced numerous challenges, including a build time that exceeded our initial expectations by more than double. That delay was not HouseLift’s fault, yet they (especially Danae) stood by us throughout the entire process, ensuring our investment was protected every step of the way. Their design was absolutely beautiful, but it was more than just the design that impressed us. HouseLift was our advocate, meticulously identifying errors and insisting that the builder rectify them. There were many details that, in our exhaustion, we might have overlooked. However, now that we are living in our stunning new home, we are immensely grateful for HouseLift’s persistence in ensuring everything was perfect. The final result is a home that perfectly suits our family's needs. We couldn't be happier with the outcome and highly recommend HouseLift to anyone seeking a dependable, talented, and supportive construction design team.

We waited 13 years to design our dream kitchen, so the design firm we chose to work with was extremely important to us. House Lift Design not only designed a beautiful kitchen that we absolutely love but they were incredible to work with. Brenda and her entire team are extremely talented, dedicated, competent and organized. Every step of the process was thoroughly explained to us in detail and the communication was stellar. HLD listened to our ideas, wants, likes etc and truly created our dream kitchen. They took what we wanted and elevated it to the next level. The result was not only beautiful but understated and functional. The contractor they hired was equally as impressive and his attention to detail and timeliness was truly impressive. We could not have been happier with the work HLD did in our home and we will definitely work with them in the future.

In undertaking a major renovation of our home office and primary bathroom, we were prepared for stress. Having never used an interior designer or taken on any major renovations before, we had no clue what a gift HouseLift Design would become in our lives. From start to finish-- WORTH EVERY PENNY. Our major renovation project was-- dare I say...fun! We felt nothing but a peaceful confidence in Brenda and team from the start, which is the best compliment this Type A personality can give. The renderings and design process: top notch. The contractor recommendation: top notch. The project management: What's above "top notch"? (Thank you, Danae!) HLD shouldered the burden of every stressor and issue and communicated beautifully with the contractor to execute their plan and troubleshoot any issues along the way so we didn't have to. As busy professionals, I cannot tell you how valuable it was to know that Brenda and team had the renovation project under control and we didn't have to worry about anything. The attention to detail in the design and the quality of the materials and furnishing selected was impeccable. In addition to being truly great at their craft, the entire HLD team is staffed with truly lovely people. While we are THRILLED that our luxury dream bathroom and home office are complete, we will miss getting to work with everyone at HLD. We are so grateful that we chose them and would hire them again without any hesitation.

I can’t say enough good things about Brenda and her team. When we hired HouseLift to help us with our new home build, we really had no idea just how critical of a role they would end up playing. In the end her team was the lynch pin that held our entire project together during what otherwise was a long and stressful build. Thankfully we involved them early on as they wound up working together with our architect to make improvements to the drawings before construction even began (which I didn’t even know was a thing). Brenda also referred us to a builder she works with who we ended up using and was also wonderful to work with. I would highly recommend HouseLift to anyone building a new home. Not just for the design aspect (which was great) but also for all the intangibles you didn’t even know you needed.

While we’re happy with the end result, the experience we had was not a pleasant one nor what we were pitched. Timelines came and went, communication was not adequate, the agreed upon budget was exceeded by tens of thousands of dollars, and the owner belittled us on multiple occasions. After our preferred contractor was not brought in to quote out painting our home (His quote ended up being nearly 10k less than the ONE quote obtained by HouseLift design), we called a meeting to discuss the items we were unhappy with, one of which was the lack of communication and decisions being made for OUR home without looping us in on the decision-making process, however the next item that arose a decision was made by the HouseLift team without so much as a call or text to ask our preference. After the second incident where we did not receive any communication from HLD about plans that changed and a decision effecting our home was made without us, we raised issue again. This resulted in the owner requesting a call where she hurled insults at us and attacked our character. We were shocked that the leader of such an esteemed design firm would be behaving so poorly. The best part is we were charged the $175/hr rate to be on the receiving end of her unprofessional behavior. You will also see these charges add up very quickly with multiple redundancies, however there is no accountability for these hours and you are simply given a log and a bill (another concern we expressed early on in our project). HouseLift Design also breached our contract by posting our name and personal photos to their public instagram page without our consent, despite their contract stating they take precautions to ensure families’ privacy. We ended up overseeing large portions of our project that were supposed to be the HouseLift team’s responsibility including having the house painted, changing carpet to hardwoods, etc. Considering we paid six figures for a “turn key” design service and had such an awful experience that definitely wasn’t “turn key”, we can’t, in good conscience, recommend this design firm to anyone.

I’m way overdue on this but there are so many amazing things I can say about HouseLift design! I started working with Brenda and her team back during the pandemic before I had closed on my new home in 2021. From start to finish it was such a positive experience. I was relocating from a 2 bedroom apartment into a 4 bedroom home. Not a lot of furniture to occupy the spaces I would be gaining in the new house so I needed a lot of help. Back during the pandemic it was almost impossible to buy a lot of furniture at once because so many things were on back order and took ages to get you. Too much for one person to tackle and especially to manage all the logistics of it all. I was able to get my office, dining room, living room, master bed with sitting room, and a second floor loft designed and furnished by HouseLift. They nailed down my tastes perfectly and was so satisfied everything that I continued to do other projects shortly after I moved in and started to see the space come together. I still plan on working with HouseLift in the future already thinking about finishing where we left off with furnishing my patio (which HouseLift also helped with in my second project) as well as some other projects with my kitchen and master closets. Everyone one on Brenda’s team is a delight and on top of everything. Literally made things so easy and seamless for me from the installs to selecting alternatives when an item was no longer available to handling communication and direction to the contractors that came in for various parts of the project. The HouseLift Design team is absolutely amazing! We engaged them to do a complete makeover of our main floor living spaces and we are thrilled with the wonderful new home they created for us. Brenda and her team are passionate about their work, incredibly talented, and so much fun to work with! From our introductory call with Brenda to the final walk-through with the team, the entire experience exceeded our expectations. The design phase was collaborative and fun. The HouseLift team blended our vision with their ideas and expertise to create the perfect plan for our home. The communication and project management were also outstanding throughout the process. The Houselift Design team coordinated with the contractor and other specialists, oversaw window treatment installations and furniture delivery, found amazing accessories for each room, and managed every detail – big and small. They kept us informed of progress, were responsive to our questions and concerns, and ensured there were no surprises with cost or timeframes. We did not have to worry about anything! We truly cannot say enough great things about HouseLift Design and highly recommend them if you are looking to love where you live!
