Very nice people! But unreliable if you need a real fix. I went to get my car fixed because it wouldn’t start and I needed to go on a long trip with my family in the car. I told the mechanics the same. I asked them to check out why my car wouldn’t start, fix my AC and a fix the break noise. They took care of the AC and break noise the first time just fine. Didn’t check the other issue about the car not starting that I mentioned but left my terminal slightly disconnected from my battery. The second time, I came back explaining I was about to leave for the trip. I HAD to come back because the terminal they left unconnected started smoking. They took no responsibility and made me pay for the new terminal and the labour. They told me this would fix the car not starting as well. I took it home, it would not start the next day. The THIRD time. I take it in and let them know it’s most likely the alternator or the starter. Explaining the battery is essentially new. They call me back and tell me that it’s the battery…. I pick up my vehicle and change the battery myself. The vehicle still has the starting issue… This means they are not trustworthy. THREE opportunities to do a proper inspection. Knowing they would be risking me and my family in a long trip. They lied about properly inspecting my vehicle, lied when they told me the terminal fix would be ok for me to risk a long trip which could have stranded me and my family. They took no responsibility and were willing to let me pay for their mistakes and lack of professional diligence. Ps. On top of this they prioritized a car show over customers and when I showed up to an appointment to fix the terminal they left off that started smoking, that was SCHEDULED, they told me to come back because the car show was more important.

Dont even take credit for a full 1 star... Sledgehammer mechanics and they do not care about your vehicle... Don't take your car here if your trying to get ever inch out of your ride. Stripped a bolt because they use Impacts on everything instead of there brains... Bent a joint on the right and now the car is inoperable because of the shaking after 35mph.... They deleted the dash footage or unplugged the cam while it was being worked on as well as the test drove afterwards which i came upon them slamming the brakes coming back because "THEY WERE RUSHED"... The car was at the shop since 8am when they opened and waited the entire day to work on it... Don't take anything here unless you dont care because they dont as well and they just want money.... A specialist in a field were the car is no longer being manufactured and he charges a ball of gum compared to the half-wited experience they have working there....

This is the 3rd time I have used Howe Auto for something, I was reasonably satisfied the first two times, however, I don't think I could be more angry and disappointed than I am right now. I took my car to Howe Auto with a specific request, and the young, obviously, wet-behind-the-ears mechanic, took it upon himself, to do what HE wanted, not what the Customer (that's me) ordered/requested. First off, I did not actually need a mechanic to do the job, I just had a lot of things going on, and because they had been good to me in the past, I thought I would throw them an easy job, and we would both benefit. They would make a few dollars and I wouldn't have to fight it with my limited tools. I told them to replace my Lower Radiator Hose, the 2 Clamps and, of course, fill it with Coolant. I provided the Hose and 2 gallons of 50/50 Coolant, but told them they would need to supply the Clamps. I was told that it would cost about $81, providing there were no complications. When I returned to get my car, I had a $74 Bill for 1 Clamp being replaced, and they did NOT replace the Hose I brought my car in for in the first place. And when I incredulously asked why they had totally ignored me and did their own thing, I got told by this young buck that he had a lot of experience and to trust him, the Hose was good. I told him the hose was over 4 years old (I know because I had paid a Mechanic to replace all my Belts and Hoses, when I bought the car a little over 4 years ago). I didn't bring it in asking them to find a problem, I brought my vehicle in EXPRESSLY to replace the Hose and Clamps. He told me just to trust him because he had more experience than me, and that I could bring it in later when the Hose actually needed replacing. I guess he meant after it bursts, and I am left stranded somewhere. The boy didn't know that I have done everything on a car but rebuild an engine or a transmission, though I have been standing there watching enough of them be built, and I have replaced a transmission, twice. Not to mention I have replaced hundreds of Hoses, Belts, Spark Plugs, Brake Drums, Pads and Discs, Points, Coils and Caps. And I have never met any human, that has replaced more U-Joints on a car than I have. (I just have a knack for picking used cars that the U-Joints are going to start going out, shortly after I purchase it). I guess because I was being a little lazy, I should have expected it, but after this, I will be handling my own repairs. I am the only "Mechanic" I ever met, that I can trust.

My van broke down in VT. AAA took it to Howe Service Center and they had the universal joints replaced on the drive shaft in 24 hours. The receptionist and mechanic were very friendly and the price was very reasonable. I'd gladly work with Howe again.

let me tell you something.. these guys are the FREAKIN’ BEST mechanical team in town… No lie… Scott and the gang are unbelievably fantastic… Last year at the car show… I believe the engine in my 1969 Corvette… I wasn’t right in the head for months… That car is my dream car… I start it for the winter and then I let Scott take a look at it… He suggested putting in a new block so I went with it… We went from a 427 to 454… It was a tight fit, but he got it in there… He got everything switched over and tonight we took it out for a test drive!… This car is AWESOME!!… It’s a screamer!! Holy crap people if you need any mechanical work… These guys are the bomb… I cannot express this any better! I noticed one review where Scott and the gang got one star… Well, I read her review… This woman needs her head examined… Maybe go buy a brain lady… Nobody can compete with Howe Center Auto!!!!!!!! Thank you, Scott and the team!! By the way, the woman in the office… She’s a nicest person… A real sweetheart… I can’t forget her as well… Thanks everybody!!… Alex, Gioffi, Rutland Vermont… I’m going for a cruise right now!

Don’t get the high reviews, horrible shop. Terrible customer service , rude employees and lady at the desk is completely clueless. Tells me 8:30 for an appointment then tells me I’m early when I show up at that time.

This is the shop to go to. They are fairly priced per hour and dont charge up the donkey for parts. They fix your car up really quickly and its great work. They understand here that if you have a car its going to have maintenance but it doesn't need to cost you your life savings. Ive taken multiple cars here and the work on every single one has been phenomenal. These guys explain everything and answer any questions you might have. Honestly they're great people and great mechanics that you can trust with your vehicle.
