DO NOT trust Dede and Innovative to do your retirement planning or your taxes!
Dede made major errors on our tax return, then took no accountability for them and blamed us for not reviewing them well enough - no apology or acknowledgement whatsoever. We caught one big error prior to filing, and have since filed an amendment to fix the others caught in the following year.
Thankfully this happened just prior to us transferring our money into her financial management as we had planned. We pulled the plug on that due to her lack of ownership on the tax error (mistakes happen - it’s how you handle them that matters). But she billed us a large sum of money for her careless work anyway.
Dede: The only thing you did right was showing us your true colors prior to our retirement transfer - we certainly dodged a bullet and have found an amazing financial planner since then.

We take our professional responsibilities very seriously, particularly when it comes to tax preparation and retirement planning.
Our tax process includes detailed information requests, written assumptions, and a client review step prior to filing. We encourage every client to carefully review their return and supporting schedules before submission. In this case, a correction was identified prior to filing and addressed. As with any professional service engagement, any later adjustments may require a formal amendment.
While we understand that tax matters can be frustrating, we do not agree with the characterization of a lack of accountability. We followed our documented process and remained available to address follow-up questions.
Out of respect for client confidentiality, we cannot discuss specifics in a public forum. We remain committed to professionalism, accuracy, and clear communication in every engagement.
