Surprised by all of these great reviews. My experience was very transactional without any post inspection support. They were quick to book and take my payment. The team on site was very nice. But, it took many weeks and many follow ups on my part to get the report. Now that I have the report, several of their recommendations just don't make sense or would seem to cause more long term problems. I can't get a response to talk through my questions.

We had Dave (David Brauer) from Insight come out to look into a damp smell in our basement, and he was fantastic. He was thorough, used infrared, and tracked the smell to a likely leak inside a bathroom wall. Scheduling with Anne was easy and the price was fair. Highly recommend Insight if you need answers on a moisture issue!

Did not show up to inspection. After calling and leaving messages they claimed there was a conflict of interest. We rearranged work, childcare, and a dr apt to be available this was an issue that they should have been up front about upon schedule or at a minimum call us the morning of to let us know.

Ms. Durrenberger, I completely understand your frustration. To shed some light on the situation for you, we were not aware of the conflict until our inspector drove up to the house this morning!
As soon as he arrived on site, our inspector recognized the property as a home where he had performed specialized inspection services several months ago, wherein the current owner was our client. We were there at their request not once, but twice, for separate issues. Regrettably, this causes a clear conflict of interest: we are in possession of information on the property which would not have been evident during a typical pre-purchase home inspection, but we could not disclose this without permission from the ones who hired us for the deeper causative inspections (your seller).
Our inspector immediately called our office manager, who then did her due diligence in confirming that we did indeed perform those inspection services on that same property last year. She called to explain this to your husband within seven minutes of the scheduled inspection start time.
Our scheduling software had not picked up the return to that address because the home's address shows up in two different towns! The seller had booked it using Campton Hills, and you had booked using St. Charles.
Again, I want to express with deep sincerity that I understand your frustration from this morning. We at Insight strive to reduce stressors, not add to them! However, we are also bound by professional ethics, and I stand by the call that my inspector and office manager made. I hope that you can now understand why we had to back out of our booking.

I am the director of a independent retirement community and have been dealing with some electrical questions/issues and was pointed in Joe's direction. I looked for a company to do a full energy audit for quite a long time. I found Insight via a glowing recommendation on Reddit, and I have been thrilled with their service. They did a full energy audit (it took almost 4 hours) and located many insulation issues with my home. Dave walked me through my entire house and indicated places that were under insulated. The subsequent report I received was extremely detailed, and included suggestions for an efficient remediation timeline. Insight also recommended a few companies who they trust to carry out these procedures. I had a long conversation with Joe who helped me understand some of the more technical aspects of the Insight report, and also the details of the estimates I received. I found both Dave and Joe to be knowledgeable and responsive. I highly recommend this company

I’ve worked in weatherization for over 20 years, and I recently went through BPI training for EA with Insight Property Services—honestly, it was one of the best training experiences I’ve had. Joe took the time to work with me one-on-one, really tailoring the reviews and class time to what I needed, instead of just doing a cookie-cutter approach like I have had in larger classes.
I’ve been through other trainings, including state-run ones, and while those were helpful, this was just on another level. It felt more personal, more in-depth, and way more focused on helping students truly understand the material—not just pass a test.
If you're in weatherization or energy work and need BPI training or just a quick refresher before the test , I’d definitely recommend them. It made a big difference for me.
