For the past 5 years, I’ve always received exemplary customer service. During an annual cleaning and inspection of my furnace, Jordan inquired about my on-demand hot water heater efficiency. It is over 12 years old, was installed by a different company. He did an inspection, found a few issues that could have caused me big problems in the long run. He explained things to me so I could easily understand vs. techno words that would have my head spinning. I can’t say enough about the great customer service at IRP &H. Highly recommend!

Iron Range Plumbing was contracted by the city of Hibbing to repair my sewer lateral and replace the backflow valve. From the beginning the receptionist was rude to my wife and I. She even hung up on my wife.
They never called and said that we would have to get our basement ready for the floor to be broken out with less that 24 hour notice.
Iron Range Plumbing then rescheduled 3-4 times before actually showing up to do the work.
The area that was needed to be broken out for the lateral repair is used living space.
The hole was cut in my floor freehand. No measuring nothing was done to make the finished appearance suitable for a used living area.
I will start by saying the 2 techs that came out were very kind and professional. They tried their best to keep their mess minimal considering the work being done. I believe the techs were instructed to do the work as quickly and cheap as possible. (probably because the job was blind bid)
When the approximately 4 foot by 6 foot hole was cut it was cut all the way through smooth not scored then hammered out to leave a rough surface for the patch to lock onto. The cuts extend inches beyond the actual opening. All this leaving areas for the floor to crack and the patch eventually to heave.
The check valve was replaced with a manual shut of check valve combination valve. Instead of using a proper riser for that valve they made a "riser" out of galvanized tin and sheet metal screws. The riser had sharp edges and drill points of the screws into the area a person was supposed to reach into for operating the valve.
The 4" PVC clean out sticks up out of the floor almost a half inch.
The concrete patch is in no way any type of level. I understand they are not concrete contractors so I was not expecting a perfect and smooth patch, however I expect better out of a patch that size especially when they were informed it is used living space.
The worst part is there was no lid over this home made riser that is 8" wide by 6-8" deep. The origional check valve cleanout had a proper lid in place yet we were left with nothing.
The techs were also informed our child is autistic and uses that area for a sensory room when weather is inclement. This area was left unsafe and unusable.
When I called to try to remedy the situation I got more attitude and rudeness out of Jessica.
I was informed that since the city was paying them I basically had no say in any remedy.
They eventually sent another tech out to "fix" the problem. (which is not a suitable repair in my eyes as the homeowner)
He ground the clean out down to the concrete, cranked the plug so tight it deformed and probably messed up the threads. He ground the screws off the riser and pounded the sharp edges of the tin with a hammer (still sharp) He then "sealed" the valve to the tin riser with a tube of silicone, and put a 12" beauty cover over the 8" hole.
The concrete patch has been allowing water to seep through leaving a bunch of efflorescence since the patch has been in place. This is in fact a sign that the patch has not adhered to the origional concrete properly.
I requested Jessica have the Owner Mr. Craig Walli call me as to remedy this horrid work properly. Jessica then informed me that a call would be made to me by Mr. Walli at his convenience. I have not heard anything in almost 2 weeks.
I wouldn't in good faith hire Iron Range Plumbing on my own or recommend their work to anyone. I gave more than enough chance to remedy the issues before leaving this review.

Great communication throughout. I asked for a quote for a couple of different things. I received honest feedback and options. Workers were great and efficient. Price was appropriate and fair. I wouldn’t hesitate to use Iron Range Plumbing & Heating again.

Perfect. I called them because a had a strong sewer smell in my house. They put me on their emergency list. They inspected and found a broken sewer pipe underneath my house in the crawl space. When the plumbers showed up to take care of this gross job. They were very polite and didn’t show any hesitation to jump down there and repair this very smelly situation. They put tarps down and when they were done. You couldn’t even tell that they were there. I very happy that I chose them to handle this repair. I will not hesitate to call them again if I need any other work done. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
