I originally worked with a tax preparer named Neil in Woodburn, and he was great. He seemed very knowledgeable, explained things clearly, and got my taxes moving quickly. I felt confident everything was being handled correctly while working with him.
Unfortunately, after he left and my taxes were transferred to the Salem office, my experience changed completely. The woman who took over my return called me three separate times with three different totals. When I called back the following day to ask if the corrections had been made, she admitted they still had not been entered, even though the information had already been provided.
At that point, I lost confidence in the accuracy of my return and decided to pick up my paperwork instead of continuing the process there.
What was especially disappointing was the lack of urgency or concern when I came to retrieve my taxes. I did not get the impression that completing or correcting the return was a priority, which made the experience even more frustrating.
I ended up taking my taxes to H&R Block instead, and they were able to properly complete my return and get me a very good refund without all the confusion and changing numbers.
I appreciate the help Neil provided, but the follow-through and professionalism afterward were very disappointing.

Not really impressed. I guess if you just want basic service where someone just plugs the numbers into the computer and the computer does it thing then I guess it’s worth it.
