Terrible Workmanship and Even Worse Customer Service
I had an extremely disappointing experience with JDM Sliding Glass Door Repair and would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
We originally called JDM because the glass panel on our sliding door had detached from the frame. A technician came out, inspected the door, and quoted the repair. During the visit, he recommended replacing the rollers, explaining that smoother operation would help prevent the issue from happening again. Before authorizing any work, I specifically asked whether they could actually repair the glass/frame issue, since that was the reason for the service call. I made it clear that I did not want to spend money on additional repairs if the door ultimately needed to be replaced. The technician assured me they could fix the problem.
The work was completed, and we paid $385.
Just three days later, the frame completely separated from the door again. As an engineer, I decided to inspect the repair myself. What I found was alarming. The screws intended to secure the frame had not even been properly threaded into their holes and were loose inside the frame. Additionally, the kick lock was not properly secured to the door. I ultimately had to repair these issues myself.
When I contacted JDM, they refused to return and inspect their failed repair unless I paid another $75 service fee.
At that point, I requested a refund and spent considerable time working with Edith in their service department. Initially, I was told they would refund the amount paid, less the cost of parts. While I was unhappy with that outcome, I agreed. Weeks went by and no refund was issued.
When I followed up, I was then told the refund would only be $75. Given the very limited parts used, that made little sense. Later, I was told that if I left a negative review, they would not provide any refund at all. Another month passed with no refund, and when I called again, I was told they were not responsible because the technician who performed the work was an independent contractor and that I should contact him directly.
At every step, the story changed. Promises were made and not honored. The repair failed almost immediately, the workmanship was poor, and the customer service experience was even worse.
This has been one of the most frustrating service experiences I have ever had. I paid for a repair that failed within days, had to fix parts of the work myself, and spent months chasing a refund that never materialized. I would not trust this company with any sliding door repair and strongly recommend others avoid the same experience.
