Nice nursery and landscap outfit in the Farmers Market complex. Nursery plants and products. Also outdoor decor, pond supplies, bird feeders and such. Some unique items. Concrete statuary. Staff was friendly.
A large variety of annual and perineal plants. A lot of indoor plants and gardens decor. And a lots of outdoor plants as well including fruit trees, shrubs, hedges and other plants. A calm and serene waterfall area with a small pond for koi fishes. I felt the prices to be little expensive compared to other places.…
This is probably one of the most expensive places you could go to buy plants. The people working there seem unhappy. If you’re looking for plants and it’s spring or early summer, there are tons of vendors just beyond Jesse Isreal, in the lower parking lot at the farmers market. I’m just saying as a local person this…
We are always pleased with our purchases from Jesse Israel & Sons Nursery. The plants always thrive and look great! Also, we never have any problem finding help when we need it, and the staff are very knowledgable. Happy to have them close by. 😊

This is probably one of the most expensive places you could go to buy plants. The people working there seem unhappy. If you’re looking for plants and it’s spring or early summer, there are tons of vendors just beyond Jesse Isreal, in the lower parking lot at the farmers market. I’m just saying as a local person this is not a go to spot. I think they are taking advantage of the fact that they have a really good location and are at the farmers market which is highly frequented by tourists.

I like this nursery but was very disappointed to see that they were selling Pink lady slipper orchids. These plants are highly dependent on mycorrhizal fungi to survive so will most likely die in a garden setting. Besides the fact that the plants are being dug up from someone’s property, it’s just an exploitative thing to do for people who care about plants.
Our native wildflowers, including the ladyslippers, are legally grown here in WNC. They do have the native soil in the containers that will inoculate the mycorrhizae needed (Rhizoctonia). Both us and the grower are regularly inspected by the NC Department of Agriculture, and hold the necessary licenses from the NCDA. I would be happy to discuss further. --Alan Israel

Used to be the place to go for plants. Don't now-won't get what's labeled as when sold. You won't know what you actually have until it's grown and too late. Overpriced.
