Great Help with multiple cases. He is always available and very responsive and knowledgeable. He knows his way around the court systems which has helped a lot in our family cases. I contacted this firm through its website on Monday and followed up by phone on Friday because I needed to schedule a consultation regarding modification of my divorce judgment. My children’s father is moving to Alaska, which is a significant change in circumstances, and we have been unable to reach an agreement regarding custody and related arrangements. The woman who answered asked a few basic questions, then flatly told me that a divorce judgment could not be amended. This was surprising because I had already spoken with two other family-law firms, neither of which suggested that modification was impossible. When I questioned the information and said I would prefer to discuss the legal issues with someone qualified to advise me, she responded, “Well, this isn’t a consultation”—even though I had already explained that I was calling specifically to schedule one. When I asked about the typical wait for a consultation, she repeatedly emphasized that the attorney had been in court all week but said she had no idea how long scheduling might take. The entire interaction felt argumentative, dismissive, and unprofessional. I was not expecting free legal advice from the person answering the phone; I was simply trying to arrange a paid consultation and determine whether the firm could assist me. I am prepared to pay appropriately for experienced representation and peace of mind, but this interaction left me with no confidence in the firm’s intake process or client communication. By comparison, Montagna Family Law treated me with professionalism and respect, although their consultation schedule was booked about a month out. I contacted this firm because it appeared among the more highly regarded family-law practices in the Solano County area, but based on my experience, I cannot recommend it.
