I highly recommend Joseph & Hetrick. I needed help with back taxes and a complex company stock situation, and Deva Hetrick was incredibly responsive—even over the holidays. Her clear, detailed communication immediately built trust.
Her team caught issues buried in my stock plan documents that saved me a significant amount of money, and also reconciled my records with IRS filings to fix discrepancies. Despite a tight timeline, she was always available, working tirelessly through Christmas and New Year’s to get everything done.
What could have been overwhelming was handled with clarity and care. I’m now fully up to date and feel a huge sense of relief. I plan to continue working with them for years to come.”

J&H is a fantastic modern tax advisory firm. They are knowledgable and kind, and take the stress away from complex tax situations. I've worked with Deva and her team for several years. They are especially knowledgeable about equity comp and navigating complex tax situations. They are highly responsive and easy to communicate with. I highly recommend their services.
Deva and Randy have been doing my taxes for the past 5 years and I don't know what I would do without them and their team! Through several life changes over the years, they have made what could be a very overwhelming experience very manageable and stress free. The tax document collection process is streamlined and communication is top notch. Even during the off season, they have assisted me with tax related questions and always put my mind at ease. Joseph and Hetrick have been doing my taxes for years and have made this experience stress free. Every year when I have to gather all my tax documents they seem to improve their process with an up to date planner that makes it so much easier for someone like me who used to spend days and weeks gathering all that information. Now it takes only hours and a few reminders that I need one or 2 more things. I would highly recommend this firm for their attention to detail, their expertise and mostly for their human concern.

The price they charge for basic tax preparation is borderline criminal. They prepared a joint file for myself and my wife for $1500. When we interviewed them they talked about tax minimization strategies related to RSUs and other services I would expect for a $1500 tax filing, but none of these strategies were ever extended to us or even explained. They also incorrectly filed out last return when they forgot to include energy saving credits. I had to review the entire return myself to tell them to refile. What a horrible job these con artist pulled. I would never recommend these people to anyone ever. Horrible.

Regarding the energy credit — you are correct that this was missed on the initial filing, and we sincerely apologize for that oversight.
We'd also like to add for anyone considering this review, that our fees reflect an advisory relationship, not just annual return preparation. Clients who work with us over time benefit from an advisor who knows their situation — their retirement savings strategy, how their investment accounts have shifted, whether equity compensation has created concentration risk, or when a capital loss from a prior year becomes actionable. These aren't one-size-fits-all observations; they come from familiarity built over time. The planning that happens across multiple years — adjusting between 401(k) and IRA contributions, managing gain and loss timing, thinking ahead on tax exposure — is what distinguishes ongoing advisory work from a transactional service, and that distinction is reflected in how we price our engagements.
Our firm is not the best fit for everyone, but we're a firm that deeply cares about our clients and we hope that shines through in the rest of our reviews.

I have nothing but fantastic things to say about the folks at Joseph & Hetrick. There's a great blend of professionalism, kindness, and competence there, and I greatly appreciate how much they go out of their way to make my part of the job (gathering the information) easier.
