Kahn's Catering

Two stars simply because the food itself was delicious. I’m also very disheartened because I see Kahn’s replying to poor reviews disputing the experiences of their clients. Please believe every word in my review. Kahn’s was an absolute pain to work with and BEYOND, and I mean BEYOND overpriced. I feel bad for our venue, because I am telling people to not book there simply because of this caterer. Our venue has an exclusive contract with Kahn’s, meaning we had no other options, and they know it. For the prices they charge, you should expect exceptional service. Our contact Jenny Hunter struggled immensely with the most basic details. I had to personally go through every contract with a fine tooth comb and make edits MYSELF for details she missed after more than two chances to fix. I sent an email outlining VERY CLEARLY details such as guest count, meal counts, hors d’oeuvre selections, linen colors, decor selections, and these details were wrong multiple times in the formal contract. It was very disheartening to know you’re spending an arm and leg, but have to triple check everything yourself. When emailing with her about food options, she constantly contradicted herself, or completely ignored questions. I had to copy and paste the same question into THREE EMAILS before it was finally answered. Then we get to the costs. They are not transparent about costs at all. If you want chairs that aren’t ugly banquet chairs, they do not mention that you must order through them different chairs that are minimum $15/chair. I asked if we could provide our own chair covers; NOPE. You HAVE to use their chair covers at $8/cover. The straw that broke the camels back for me was charging $1 per guest for WATER at our ceremony space in the middle of summer. WATER. If we are paying over $30k for catering, you’d think water would be complimentary. I cried so many times over costs. My sweet fiancé now husband had to remind me the chairs are not what people will remember about a wedding. The food will be great, but you’ll go through you-know-where to get it.

We recently used Kahn's for our wedding, as we got married at ISM and Kahn's is their in-house catering company. We were lucky enough to get to work with Jenny H, and she did a wonderful job! Jenny was extremely responsive and fun to work with, and she was there to guide us through every step of the wedding-planning experience.

We recently used Kahn's as the caterer for our son's wedding at Newfields. Jenny Hunter was our coordinator and she was very easy to work with especially as we planned the event. She was quick to respond to emails with answers and was very attentive to details. On wedding day, the ballroom looked stunning. Tables and chairs were beautifully decorated and having bars set up in 2 locations allowed guests to not wait in long lines. There was plenty of staff which allowed the meals to come out quickly. They require placecards at each guests spot which helps the servers to get the guests selections correct and makes sure no allergies are missed. All staff were dressed professionally and were very helpful. The meals were delicious and beautifully presented. No one left hungry- the serving sizes were very appropriate. We also had a cocktail hour and staff served appetizers by hand which was so nice. Everyone commented on how delicious they were. Kahn's is a top notch caterer in the Indianapolis area...if you want a high class event, choose Kahn's.

Kahn’s went above and beyond for our wedding at the Scottish Rite! We were introduced to Jenny Hunter at our tasting, as she transitioned in a little later as our coordinator. She was so compassionate, attentive, and organized. She answered every question I had and helped me organize the layouts and accommodated my ideas for doing banquet and square tables rather than round. The tasting was a fun time and we got great advice on tableware and linens. The other true stars of the show were the service staff at the venue! Everyone was so kind with a smile on their face consistently asking if I needed anything. All of our guests echoed that the staff was exceptionally gracious. The bar staff thanked us at the end of the night and they were so organized I didn’t even notice them packing up! We came from out of state so we could not transport much at the end of the night, so we offered up our florals to any staff member that may want them and kept what we could for preservation, but the staff all offered to dispose of any items we no longer needed such as small cards, floral picks, leftover debris, etc. Can’t say enough good things about them!

Jenny at Kahn's Catering was absolutely incredible to work with from start to finish! She made our wedding planning process so much less stressful. The food and service were all great - thanks so much to Jenny and to the entire Kahn's team!!

We are so happy we had our wedding at the Montage with Kahn's Catering. The venue was beautiful. It rained on our wedding day, so it was great to have a place inside for the ceremony as a backup plan. Kahn's executed the logistics of the day seamlessly--we didn't have to worry about a thing. As for the catering, the food and service were amazing. Many of our guests raved about their meals and the coffee bar. We would highly recommend the Montage and Kahn's Catering!

Cannot say enough good things about our experience with Kahn’s Catering for our wedding at the Scottish Rite Cathedral! Dean and his team were extremely easy to work with and made our wedding day a breeze. Our guests were complimenting the food all night long!

Kahn's catered our wedding at the Indiana State Museum earlier this month and did an excellent job. From the menu tasting, to the planning meeting and the event itself, Kahn's went above and beyond to take care of every little detail that we could not have even begun to think of. I would especially like to recognize Dean Black for making our wedding day stress free from a catering standpoint as well as working with us to offer a custom beer from a local brewery that was not on Kahn's normal alcohol menu. If you are looking for a professional caterer who delivers outstanding service, look no further than Kahn's for your event.
