Was stopping by in LA and had heard about this place! And let me tell you it did not disappoint!! Everything we tried was SO amazing and beautifully baked! The service was also so friendly and welcoming, Sahar and her mom are the sweetest and so knowledgeable about bread. Will definitely be coming back when I am in LA again :))

Kouzeh Bakery
Kouzeh Bakery at a glance
Customers praise the bakery for its wide selection of authentic Iranian breads and pastries, noting the quality of ingredients and balanced flavors. Staff are described as friendly and knowledgeable, often assisting with choices and explaining the history behind specific items. Pricing is considered reasonable for the unique products offered. A recurring criticism in lower-rated reviews is that the establishment is overhyped, while another notes the tea lacks authenticity despite the high quality of the sweets.

I hadn’t tried any of these pastries before, so the staff helped me choose a couple. The sistani was the most memorable, I really liked the flavor and texture. The fouman koloucheh was also a nice, not too sweet dessert.

Exceptional Iranian bakery whipping up specialty breads/pastries from across Iran. Given the quality and uniqueness of the items, prices are outstanding. A refreshing perspective to the bakery scene while remaining absolutely delicious (couldn’t resist taking a few bites on the way home). Undoubtedly LA is lucky to have this place!! Standouts: Barbari, Moshtak Naari, Fouman Koloucheh, Tea Cookie, and Cocoa Ardeh
Kouzeh Bakery is phenomenal. It is refreshing and so very interesting to be able to have a bakery like Kouzeh exist in LA. Not only does the bakery provide phenomenal bread, but they do so with respect for Iranian tradition and people. There is so much history behind each of these breads and pastries. Simply ask the Chef Sahar Shomali about one item, and she can give you a history lesson. As someone who grew up eating and cooking Indian food while also being someone who adores eating and baking Western European breads, Iranian bread culture is so familiar on multiple facets. Kouzeh represents the craft and skill behind European bread while embracing the spices and aromas of Indian food. Maybe that’s just Iranian food, and I’m ignorant and naive about this great cuisine. In the end, everything here was phenomenal! I deeply enjoyed being able to try almost every item at Kouzeh with my friends. We were all surprised, excited, and humbled by these breads and pastries. I also must say the prices are exceptional! As of autumn 2026, practically every item, if not every item, was under $7. I was able to buy one of everything, which was 16 different items, and only paid $63. If I tried that at any European bakery in LA, I would be paying $150+. On top of that the tea that is offered is very flavorful! I think Chef Shomali makes the tea blend herself! All in all, Kouzeh Bakery is such a sensational establishment in LA. The bread is made with skill and true craft while also being unique and affordable for the layman. I look forward to Kouzeh becoming something I can visit for many years to come. I aspire to share it with as many people as I can. I hope it lasts for generations. That way, future Angelenos of all walks of life can have the opportunity to explore the beauty that is Iranian culture.

Kouzeh Bakery — A Culinary Journey Through the Bread Heritage of Iran Bread has always held a place of profound significance in Iranian civilization, stretching back thousands of years. More than a staple of daily life, it is woven into the country’s cultural identity, regional traditions, and collective memory. In a land shaped by arid landscapes and scarce water resources, ancient ingenuity gave rise to the qanat—an extraordinary underground system that transported water across vast distances to sustain agriculture and communities. From this deep-rooted relationship between land, water, grain, and craftsmanship emerged an extraordinary diversity of regional breads, each reflecting the character and traditions of its province. At Kouzeh Bakery in Beverly Hills, Sahar has undertaken the remarkable task of bringing this rich culinary heritage under one roof. With extraordinary patience, genuine passion, and meticulous attention to detail, she has created far more than a bakery; she has established a cultural destination where the authentic bread traditions of Iran find a home in the heart of Los Angeles. What makes Kouzeh particularly special is its celebration of regional diversity. The breads of Iran are not a single tradition but a fascinating collection of distinct textures, flavors, techniques, and ingredients, shaped by the grains cultivated in different regions and the hands that have perfected their preparation over generations. Discovering these varieties in one place is a rare pleasure, especially for anyone who appreciates the historical and cultural significance of food. Equally memorable is Sahar’s hospitality. Her warm welcome, evident affection for her craft, and impressive knowledge of her products elevate the entire experience. She does not simply present her breads; she shares the stories, traditions, and cultural identity behind them. That personal connection transforms a visit into something genuinely meaningful. In a city filled with culinary establishments competing for attention, Kouzeh is an absolute hidden gem—one distinguished not by extravagance, but by authenticity, heritage, and heartfelt craftsmanship. It is a place that reminds us that exceptional food is often about far more than taste; it is about history, identity, and the people devoted to preserving them. My sincere compliments to Sahar for her vision and dedication. And a well-deserved two thumbs up for Kouzeh Bakery—a wonderful tribute to Iran’s magnificent bread culture and a destination I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone who appreciates authentic food with a story worth telling. Five stars, without hesitation.

This place is the true definition of a hole in the wall. It's a humble mom and pop type shop that just happens to be serving the most delicious Iranian pastries and breads. I tried the spicy pomegranate flatbread and it was delicious -- I regret only ordering one! The service is wonderful and the prices are very reasonable. I'm so happy this opened up in my neighborhood and I can't wait to visit again! Support local businesses!
