Kumon Math and Reading Center of Virginia Beach - Haygood

Great experience with the Kumon reading program in the Haygood area. My grandson already seems more confident after just a month, and I’ve noticed him checking his spelling more carefully. Very happy with his progress so far.

Kumon is hands down the BEST! My 1st grader was struggling in school and had a disconnection with her schoolwork which caused a decline in her confidence. I found Kumon and from the very beginning my daughter was welcomed with open arms. My daughter’s teacher was excited to express how impress she is with my child’s improvement in reading and math and how she’s now excited about class work and participate more. I see a big difference and I’m beyond thankful for the staff. Mrs. Song has been very patient with us, she loves every student that enters the facility, and she made my daughter feel very comfortable. The entire staff have excellent customer service skills and respect towards parents and students. Thank You Kumon for all that you all are doing for Triniti, it takes a village and thank you for being apart of hers.❤️

I enrolled my son in September. I can see that my son has significantly improved in Math and Reading. Easy to communicate. Whenever I have a question, I send a message to Mrs. Anna and she replies immediately. If your child is struggling on math or reading. I recommend you to sign your child up. You will not regret.

I enrolled my 6-year-old child in Kumon since he suffers with reading. After several months of attending Kumon, I saw great growth in his studies. He improved not just his reading skills, but also his concentration and self-confidence. I got an opportunity to speak with his teacher. She agreed with me. She stated that he has improved not only his reading comprehension, but also his overall academic achievement. I am pleased that I have registered my child in Kumon. I completely agree with its theory, which is that practice makes expertise. My child practices the worksheet about 30-40 minutes each day. It becomes part of his normal habit. He normally complains about the work, but he can now complete it on his own without complaint.

I put my son into kumon because he was struggling with first grade reading and math. Within a month his score with the school reading spealist went from 3/10 words to 9/10 words . His confidence in reading has sky rocketed. He went from being shy because he didnt know the answers to now enjoying reading and even volunteering to read in front of the class! His ability to write numbers has improved as well as his addition.. The staff are very friendly, knowledgeable, and work great with children. My 6 year old boy has trouble focusing but kumon keeps him engaged and focused and he actually enjoys going! Ms. Ana made the enrollment process seamless. I can't thank them enough for how much they have helped my son. You can't put a price on someone caring about your child's learning as much as you .. but baby Kumon is worth every single penny!!

My daughter has only been coming here for a month and there are NO WORDS to describe the progress we’ve seen. The team they have over here really care about what they are doing and my husband and I are so grateful for all they do.

I love this program! I can see the improvements and the increased confidence my niece displays when performing math and reading. We recently started utilizing her iPad (tablet) to complete the worksheets and homework and she loves it. There are more real time results and corrections so she covers more and she can see and track results, levels, how long it takes her to complete, and see each days completed tasks. It’s convenient and mobile; she can do homework in the car on the way somewhere or while visiting with family. She is incentivized to complete her work first because she can play games, watch videos, or FaceTime friends right after on the same device. Switching to the tablet has been a game changer! Kumon’s staff are phenomenal and both my niece and I just love Ms. Anna! Thank you for helping me, for helping us. It felt very overwhelming to figure out how to teach this child on my own and now she is developing in her academic skills seamlessly. We appreciate you all.

Both of my kids go to this Kumon, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. The teachers here are super patient and really care about the students. Ms. Anna, in particular, is amazing—she has this incredible ability to assess a child’s math and reading level just from a quick test and then set up the perfect learning plan for them. As a non-native speaker, I’ve always been a bit worried about helping my kids with reading, especially pronunciation. That’s why I’m so glad to have the Kumon teachers guiding them. They make learning so much easier and more effective. I’d definitely recommend this Kumon to anyone looking for a great learning center for their kids!

My son (1st grader) was at moderate risk in reading according to his VALS test done by the public school system in September 2024. We started Kumon in OCT. Just two 30-minute sessions at week in office and a quick practice packet a day at home, my son was just retested by the school and is no longer at risk. The growth I have seen in these few months is OUTSTANDING. I would recommend this program and this center to anyone looking to help their child improve their reading and math skills. It WORKED for us and we are so thankful.

My daughter has been in the reading program over the summer and throughout the start of this school year. It has definitely paid off, as she has just received her first A in reading ever on a report card. I am so proud of how far she has come, and so thankful to Ms. Anna and her staff for helping her get this far! 5 stars for sure!
