Jerry Godinez and his staff were wonderful. We moved my stepdad over to La Vida Real after having a tour of the memory care unit. They were very accommodating to my mom, who wanted to spend a lot of time with her husband during his remaining time with us. Jerry was always kind and responsive to any question or situation that arose. Same goes for the rest of his staff. Although my stepdad's time there was too short, I would recommend La Vida Real to anyone that was interested in moving to an independent or assisted living facility.
Kirsten, Please accept our deepest condolences on the loss of your stepdad. Although his time at La Vida Real was brief, it was truly an honor to care for him and support your family during such a meaningful and difficult time. We’re especially grateful for your recognition of Jerry and our memory care team. We understand how important it was for your mom to spend time with her husband, and we’re glad our team could help make that possible while providing the compassion and support your family needed. Thank you for entrusting us with his care and for your heartfelt recommendation. We wish your family comfort and peace during this time.
Absolutely loved the tour. The community is beautiful and everyone was super friendly . It was also very clean.
Kim, Thank you for your wonderful review! We’re so pleased you enjoyed your tour and felt welcomed by our team. We take great pride in making a positive first impression and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back again soon!
A great community! The staff is wonderful and you can tell they care about the residents- Food is much better than expected and there’s a great variety to choose from on any of the menus. The activities are extensive- spanning vast interest groups- I’m very grateful La Vida is so close! My mother in law felt very much at home- and the big plus is they allow pets!
David, Thank you for such a wonderful recommendation! We’re especially happy that your mother-in-law felt right at home at La Vida. Knowing that families feel confident in the care and lifestyle we provide means so much to our team. We love that you’ve found so many reasons to appreciate our community, including our pet-friendly atmosphere. After all, our four-legged companions are family, too! We’re grateful to have your family as part of La Vida.
The memory care community at La Vida Real was a godsend to our family. We were in a bind because our mom had to leave her previous assisted living home quickly. She was agitated and anxious in her previous home to the point where she ended up in the ER (due to lack of sleep and not taking medications). Jerry, the memory care director, was wonderful from the start. He helped us make a smooth transition for our mom. The entire staff was so welcoming and accommodating. Their passion for their job and their care for the residents was evident immediately. Because of her dementia, our mom was wary and untrusting when she first arrived, but the change in her demeanor once she got settled was amazing - especially after her previous ordeal. And the experience for me and my family members dealing with mom’s dementia had improved immensely. The staff kept us informed (day or night) of any changes or issues with our mom’s health. Also, Jerry and his staff helped us coordinate with hospice and to advocate for our mom’s needs. Sadly, our mom was only at the La Vida Real for a short time. Brain cancer coupled with dementia triggered a quick decline. However, we are so happy that she spent her last months in such a wonderful place. We always felt welcome when we visited and the whole care team made ensure that our mom felt loved and cared for.
Anna, Please accept our deepest condolences on the loss of your mother. We know your family faced a difficult and unexpected transition, and it was truly an honor to provide her with a place where she could feel safe, comfortable, and loved during her final months. We’re especially touched by your recognition of Jerry and our memory care team. Helping your mother settle in while keeping your family informed and supported was a responsibility we took to heart. We’re grateful that our team and hospice partners could work together to provide the compassionate care she deserved. Thank you for entrusting us with your mother’s care. Although her time with us was brief, she was a valued part of our community, and we will remember her fondly.
Amazing community!
Thank you for your review, Kristen. We appreciate the five-star rating!
Very nice retirement home. The buildings and the grounds are both kept in excellent condition.
Dennis, Thank you for your kind words! Our team takes great pride in maintaining a beautiful, welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike. We appreciate you recognizing their efforts and hope to welcome you back again soon!
I am so pleased to share my excellent experiences with the care my husband received. Every single day was a positive for us. I was there with him each day for more than six months. The caregivers were well trained and available for all of our needs. The director of the Memory Care facility was exceptionally knowledgeable in every aspect of our needs. He not only knew the names of every resident, but knew all of the families as well. If the resident was able and wished to be involved in the many daily activities, they were warmly welcomed. There were always nurses available. The food was absolutely delicious, and during the special activities, like music and games, there were treats of all kinds. The clean-up teams were also amazing and the facility was spotless 24 hours a day. In addition to the full-time caregivers, we added Hospice care during the final weeks before my husband's passing, and they all worked so well together. The bus service available to transport residents to medical appointments was also outstanding. And the gentlemen who provided this service were helpful and kind. We felt fortunate to have this option and used it a lot. My family and I are so grateful to La Vida Real and would give them many more stars than are available to give!
Mindy, Please accept our deepest condolences on the loss of your husband. It was truly an honor to care for him and to have you and your family as part of La Vida Real during those six months. Thank you for entrusting our team with his care and for sharing such heartfelt words about your experience. We’re especially touched by your recognition of the many people who supported you both - from our memory care and nursing teams to dining, housekeeping, transportation, activities, and our hospice partners. Knowing you felt surrounded by knowledgeable, compassionate people throughout his time with us means more than we can say. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your husband’s life and care. Your family will always hold a special place in our La Vida Real community.
My brother Mark Frageman was here at La Vida Real for 5 months as we “loved him back to life”. So many people were amazing partners in this journey. Sully was so helpful in getting him here & in guiding his journey. So many of the caretakers were excellent but I especially want to call out Rachael who gave him the psychological boosts he needed to push on. Kim in independent living was so helpful in creatively transitioning him to independent living so he could fulfill his only wish to return home. He was extremely happy here. I wanted him to stay but his only goal was to return to his home in Missouri which with everyone’s help he accomplished. The empower therapy team deserve much credit for his progress & hospice services were excellent. He came in dying & left living. Thank you. This is an incredible facility with excellent staff all around.
Janis, Thank you for sharing Mark’s remarkable story with us. It was truly an honor to be part of his time at La Vida Real and to support him as he worked toward the goal that meant so much to him. Knowing he was happy here and ultimately able to accomplish that goal is incredibly meaningful to our entire team. We’re grateful for your kind recognition of Sully, Rachael, Kim, the EmpowerMe therapy team, hospice, and the many caregivers who supported Mark along the way. We’ll be sure to share your heartfelt words with them. Please give Mark our very best as he begins this next chapter back home!
My heartfelt appreciation to the dining and kitchen staff for "a job well done." The warm, welcoming ambiance of the dining room is a perfect place to enjoy a meal with friends and family. Our servers are attentive, pleasant and efficient. Always ready to assist the residents to help make their dining experience more enjoyable. The culinary staff prepares an array of healthy, delicious entrees, soups, salads and yummy desserts. The residents leave the dining room with a huge smile, two hands holding their tummy and a to go box. How blessed we are to live among wonderful residents and staff.
Rosie, Thank you for such a heartfelt review! We’re so glad our dining experience has become a special part of life in our community, whether you’re enjoying a meal with neighbors, friends, or family. Your recognition of our culinary and dining teams means so much, and we’ll be sure to share your kind words with them. We especially love the image of residents leaving with smiles and perhaps a to-go box for later! We’re grateful to have you as part of our community.
