Nice trails for easy and moderately strenuous hikes.
Went up rocky ridge trail 👣 this is a 1000-foot elevation gain from start to peak. There is no flat part part for a break. This gets 4 stars because they need to update their trail signage. If you want to train your body for another hike, this is a trail I recommend for that.
Nice place to hike
Very Hilly terrain with a good mix of forested and exposed ~ Hella views, bring more water than you think you'd need. A lovely example of Conservation on the edge of the Bay Area. Will be back!
We hiked Rocky Ridge Trail... It offers panaromic views with clouds behind hills. Best to start early for a peaceful hike and cool weather.
Great hike and beautiful scenery, watching cattle roam freely....highly recommend this area
Las Trampas Regional Wilderness is a peaceful and scenic park that feels surprisingly reminiscent of rural Switzerland, with rolling green hills, open valleys, and wide sky views. The area offers plenty of well-maintained hiking trails suitable for both casual walks and longer treks. Parking is abundant, and the facilities are excellent, including clean restrooms and convenient picnic areas right by the parking lot. It’s a great spot for a relaxing outdoor escape, family outings, or simply enjoying nature without venturing far from town.
Such a fun hike. We went at around 5 pm while it was raining and we heard cows and frogs in the distance. We saw a ton of salamanders and animal footprints but no cows or larger animals. The mud gets super slippery while its raining so be careful not to slip
A good hike with older kids. Bring plenty of water on a warm day, and carry a map with you. Some trails can be mislead with the trails made by the cows.
