Laura Hope Counseling

Laura is so kind and warm hearted! She really helped work on goals with a Biblical view that was so helpful for me. I always felt like she listened intently and always clarified with me what she thought I was saying. I would definitely recommend her for people desiring strictly Bible based teaching.

There aren’t enough positive things I could say about my counseling experience with Laura. When I first sat on her couch, my spirit was weary and broken. I had lost all the joy I once had. With Laura’s help, she guided me in finding my joy again. That joy I was missing was a trusting relationship with Christ. She pointed me to the one who is our ultimate source of joy! Any problem I was facing or was struggling with, she addressed from a biblical perspective. She is SO knowledgeable about the Bible and knew exactly what book/verse to point me to. I spent a little over a year and a half seeing her and they were some of the most transformative years for me. Laura is an angel on earth and she deeply cares for each woman that sits on her couch. I know because I always felt seen, heard, and deeply cared for. I felt like I was talking to a friend who just wanted the best for me. I recommend her to every woman I possibly can!

Laura is a gift from God. During my time in counseling with her, the Lord completely healed me from things I thought I would have to live the rest of my life with. I highly recommend working with Laura. She is so encouraging and gentle. I felt that I could be fully honest with her without fearing judgment. She met my brokenness with gentleness and compassion, asking good questions to lead me to probe deeper to the sources of my troubles. She didn’t offer bandaid remedies to my issues; she invited me to explore and uncover my underlying beliefs and values that have been fueling my difficulties. God has used her counseling to change me. I realized that my anxiety and bitterness were rooted in theology problems. In every session she pointed me to Scripture, inviting me to renew my mind with God’s truth. The change this truth brought in me was noticeable. A relative gave me the perspective that counseling was not only an investment in me, but in my children and spouse as they all would benefit from the help I received. And they have! I have worked with various counselors over the years, but Laura stands out from all the rest and was truly an answer to prayer. I had not before experienced the impact that Biblical counseling can have - and Laura’s prayer & scripture saturated approach was both refreshing and life-giving. Laura is a careful and compassionate listener: I always felt heard, respected, and genuinely cared for. Laura prepared every session intentionally and created exercises & studies that were tailored to me personally. We prayed together, read God’s Word together, and Laura gently guided me in viewing my struggles through the lens of the gospel. I can honestly say my time with Laura was transformative. I still draw on the tools and truths that we used in our sessions - and it’s encouraging to see how God has enabled me to grow and continue in my recovery journey. I so did not want to meet with a counselor, but so grateful I sought Laura out. She is a gifted counselor. Twice Laura helped me through difficult events in my life. Guiding me each time with gentle yet confident counseling. Laura provided tools that continue to benefit me as new situations naturally arise. And I take comfort knowing that she is available if needed again.
