I am an extremely happy customer of Los Padres Outfitters! I had been planning a surprise engagement for my now-fiancée and wanted to propose during a horseback ride along the beach, something neither of us had ever done before. I spent quite a bit of time researching businesses in the Santa Barbara/Montecito area because I wanted everything to go as smoothly as possible. After reading some mixed reviews elsewhere, I expanded my search and came across Los Padres Outfitters. Their reviews were consistently great, and after experiencing it myself, I completely understand why. Planning a surprise proposal like this involves more than just finding someone to take you on a guided horseback ride. I also needed a photographer and, most importantly, a way to coordinate everything without ruining the surprise. Thankfully, Los Padres offered a package that handled all of it. We had a private guided ride with Shaeli, who was awesome, and they coordinated the photographer as well as another gentleman who helped secretly set everything up on the beach ahead of our arrival. The horses were also great! Rootbeer (Rupert) and Montana were very easy to work with and were a great time on the beach. Having Los Padres manage all of the communication and make sure everyone was on the same page took so much stress out of the planning process. Everything came together perfectly, and it was absolutely worth it to have one business coordinate the entire experience. They helped make an incredibly important moment in our lives feel effortless and unforgettable. I couldn't recommend Los Padres Outfitters enough. I had a ride at 830am. I got a text approx 2 hours to confirm the ride and directions to the meeting point. Elena my wonderful trail guide texted me approx 813am to give me her ETA. i arrived and the horses were ready to go. She gave me the opportunity to chose my mount one that was more auto-pilot Montana and one that was a little bit more forward, Rio. I am a pretty seasoned rider but I always believe you are a beginner if you’ve never ridden a new horse plus i wanted a nice relaxing trail ride as I had been travelling abroad for 10 days. So I chose Montana. He was so well- behaved, well-trained, responsive and sweet. Rio had a similar disposition. Elena was sweet and engaging. Plus, she takes great photos and is a professional photographer!! I felt very safe with her and the horses. I would recommend Los Padres Outfitters highly for all levels or riders. Everything was handled in a highly professional manner. I was sad that didn’t have the extended trail rides to offer.

Had a Sunset ride to the beach with Monica. She is absolutely the best! This is my 2nd time with Los Padres and Monica made my experience with my sisters truly memorable!

What an incredible experience! Victoria was absolutely lovely, the horses were fantastic, and the scenery was simply breathtaking. There is something so special about riding horses along the beach, surrounded by such beautiful views. My daughter had the absolute best time—she even declared it her “new best day ever!” It was such a wonderful experience for all of us to enjoy together, and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute.
