Hi Kaley, thank you for the wonderful 5-star review! We strive to break away from cookie-cutter experiences by crafting truly unique, story-driven, and historically rich escape rooms right in the heart of Downtown Columbus. We're thrilled you noticed the difference and enjoyed the distinct atmosphere and period-appropriate puzzles in our historical-themed games. Whenever you're ready for another high-immersion challenge on Gay Street, our doors are open!
I have never had such a unique experience at an escape room literally the moment we stepped in the door. We did both rooms and my only regret is there wasnt more of them to try! Great production quality, logic that makes sense but isnt too easy, and a game master/owner who is passionate and entertaining make for a perfect combination. Could not recommend more

Hi Evan, thank you so much for the incredible 5-star review! We are absolutely thrilled that you chose to play both of our immersive, story-driven games—The Magician's Secret and Edison's Lost Invention—here at Magic Escape Rooms in Downtown Columbus. Crafting high-production, hand-built sets with smart logical flow and story-appropriate puzzles is our ultimate passion. We love giving players an unforgettable experience right here on Gay Street, and hope we see you two back for another future adventure!
We had a great time playing both games at Magic Escape before we head up to Montreal to play more escape rooms. The owner is passionate and thoughtful, and our game began almost right after we stepped off the elevator. Edison is the more narrative based game, while Magician’s Secret is a more traditional puzzle focused one. Both are fun, and are made even better by the interactions with the actor/owner at the beginning of the game. I’d recommend both!

Thank you so much for the fantastic 5-star review, Brent! 🌟 It was an absolute pleasure hosting you both on Gay Street for a double-header before your escape room trip to Montreal!
Designing 100% private, immersive escape games where the story kicks off the second you step off the elevator is what we love doing. We’re thrilled you enjoyed the distinct styles of both rooms—from the deep storytelling and custom mechanical props in Edison's Lost Invention to the classic puzzle focus and illusions in The Magician's Secret (especially after having played over 300+ escape room games)!
Safe travels on your Montreal puzzle tour, and thank you for recommending Magic Escape Rooms to fellow escape room enthusiasts exploring Downtown Columbus! — Louis
Loved my time at Magic Escape Rooms, played both rooms and they had wonderful sets and unique puzzle design. They integrate the narrative throughout the room wonderfully providing a level of immersion rarely seen in escape rooms. When you visit I would especially recommend Magicians Secret, that was our favorite room!

★★★★★ A magical first escape-room experience!
I went to Magic Escape Rooms Columbus yesterday with my granddaughter, who was visiting Columbus and already loves escape rooms. It was my very first escape-room experience, and I think I started with the best!
The room was truly magical—so interesting, creative, and full of surprises. I especially enjoyed that it was based on a real historical character from Columbus, which made the experience feel even more special. There were many different pieces to unlock and puzzles to solve as we worked our way toward the end, so it was engaging from beginning to finish.
The host was kind, attentive, and very helpful, especially since this was my first time. They were generous with clues when we needed them, without taking away the fun of figuring things out together.
This was such a wonderful activity to share with my granddaughter, and I cannot wait to return with a group of friends. Do not let the construction on Gay Street keep you away—it is a minor inconvenience and absolutely worth it.

We take immense pride in designing private, multi-generational escape games in Downtown Columbus that weave real local history into the gameplay—specifically honoring Howard Thurston, the world-famous illusionist who grew up right here in Columbus. Designing kid-friendly, story-driven puzzles with adaptive, in-world clue delivery ensures that first-time players feel completely empowered and excited from start to finish.
Thank you as well for letting fellow visitors know that our Gay Street location is fully accessible during street construction! We can't wait to host you and your friends for another top-rated multi-room adventure inside Edison's Lost Invention!
Our family loves doing escape rooms, and Magic Escape Rooms have been some of the most unique. They're cleverly put together, full of little details. They make for a fun night out.

Thank you so much for the 5-star review, Teresa! 🌟 Coming from players who have done many escape rooms, hearing that our experience rates up there at the top means the world to us!
We work hard to design unique, tactile puzzles and multi-room layouts that give players something totally fresh compared to traditional escape games. We appreciate you visiting us in downtown Columbus and hope to host your crew for another adventure soon!
The owner was absolutely amazing. 10/10 recommend this place. We have done over 100 games and this was such a great and unique experience. The Game Master/Owner was really authentic in the story and history and the puzzles were great. It's great for a variety of players, from young or new to escape rooms to experienced players. The hints that you get feel simply part of the story and not actually like hints. The puzzles are unique from traditional rooms. We came for my daughter's 15th birthday and when I asked how she wanted to review it, she said I have no words because it was just amazing. Please stop by if you are in Columbus Ohio and get one of his games it. We did the Thomas Edison one this time and plan to come back and do the Magician one next time we are visiting from Indiana.

We were honored to host your daughter’s 15th birthday celebration! Designing immersive, narrative-driven rooms like Edison’s Lost Invention—where hints and clues feel like a natural part of the story rather than breaking character—has been an absolute passion.
Safe travels back to Indianapolis, and we can’t wait to welcome your super-smart family back to Gay Street when you come to tackle The Magician’s Secret!
