We had an absolutely wonderful experience hosting our baby shower at Benchmark at Maison Fox. From start to finish, the entire team made the planning process feel effortless and enjoyable. Gaylene, the event planner, was a pleasure to coordinate with—responsive, organized, and genuinely committed to helping us bring our celebration to life. When I visited for the walkthrough, owner Duane was incredibly welcoming and accommodating, taking the time to ensure that every detail would work beautifully for our event.
Special kudos go to David and Tina, whose outstanding service truly elevated the day. They anticipated our needs, assisted us with anything we asked, and even helped with the decorations so the space reflected our vision. Their professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail allowed us to relax and enjoy the celebration with our guests.
The team also handled an unexpected dietary need with remarkable grace. I had unfortunately neglected to submit one guest’s dietary restriction in advance, but the staff quickly and seamlessly adjusted. The chef prepared a delicious alternative meal, ensuring that our guest felt completely included and well cared for.

What a delight! We were on in town for an event and sought out a wine bar - Maison Fox was that and so much more. We sat outside on the patio which was surrounded by awesome olive trees and warm decor. The wine and food are superb as is the locale. Inside was very European and lovely. The owner Dwayne welcomes everyone and gives great advice on the wines but all staff are excellent. Do yourself a favor and visit this spot for a date, event, catchup or more you will immediately love it!

Stopped into Benchmark at Mason Fox thinking we were just going to grab a glass of wine on a nice day and ended up staying for a full meal.
The outdoor seating was great, the wine selection was really good, and the food completely surprised us. The chilaquiles were excellent and the Monte Cristo was one of the best brunch dishes I’ve had in a long time.
We ended up getting dessert and champagne too and everything we had was consistently really good. The owner also came out and talked with us for a bit which was a nice touch.
Definitely looking forward to coming back.

New ownership, now with inside seating and food! Wine food and dessert were great. Was a bit slow but they were so nice and let us know that the logistics were still getting worked out and hooked us up with dessert on the house. Such a cute place and the owners are great and treat their staff well. Come support!! We all drove 30+ min to get here and they didn't rush us nor did we rush them. Some things are worth the wait but good to know ahead of time. We will be back!!

I've been to Maison Fox several times, but came back to try the new Benchmark menu for dinner on a Friday night.
The menu is small, but there were two main specials that seemed popular. I tried the ceviche special and it was quite good. The other special was a steak option. My friends had the lamb ragu rigatoni from the regular menu and cleared their entire plates. I'd recommend ordering family style instead for next time since the options are easy to share!
One of my friends had seen a photo of their tiramisu so asked if it was available, despite it not being on the menu or mentioned as a special. It was, so we all ordered it. I found it bland, so would try a different dessert next time.
The team was lovely, if a bit understaffed. Practically every table was full. We were brought out incorrect dishes at every course, so I think they're still figuring out their table numbers.
I mentioned liking a certain type of wine that was only on the menu as a bottle, and they suggested a glass of something similar which was lovely.
Atmosphere gets an A+. The team lit candles on every table and turned on heat lamps as the sun set.
My bill was about $50 for a glass of wine, ceviche, and tiramisu + 20% tip, so ~$60 total.
Street parking is limited so you may have to hunt for a spot and walk a bit.
It's clear that a lot of love and care has gone into bringing Benchmark to Maison Fox. Downtown Fullerton is lucky to have a new date night spot option, and I'm looking forward to trying their next seasonal menu!
All my friends have been talking about Maison Fox since it went under new ownership. Not only have they been talking about it but they are going; consistently! Last Sunday I decided to try it out and I REALLY enjoyed it. The atmosphere is sheik and trendy (for Fullerton this is a plus), the staff are super friendly and knowledgeable about their product and the food they were serving that night was on point. I opted for the natural wine pairing flight and that surprised me. Natural wine is really good. Seems we have a diamond in the rough with this one and if Benchmark is any 'benchmark' for success, then I think this location will not be any different!
