Makefield Highlands Golf Club at a glance

Reviewers praise the course layout, maintenance, and event coordination services, noting responsive staff and excellent food for private functions. Common criticisms involve the driving range's poor condition, slow pace of play during peak times, and limited amenities like water availability or alcohol sales. Some guests also found weekend pricing high relative to the value provided, citing issues with tee box conditions and website accuracy regarding facility hours.

First time playing this course. I really enjoyed it. The course was in great shape. For most holes, the fairways are pretty open with minimal tree trouble. There are plenty of bunkers and the rough can be difficult. The greens are fair but undulating. Most of the course is walkable (for senior players) but a couple holes on the back are hilly. All in all Makefield Highlands is a course I plan to play more frequently.

Great venue and beautiful landscape for a private event...October 10, 2026 we returned to this venue to celebrate our 50th reunion for the Pennsbury Class of 76.. We actually doubled our attendance from our 45th reunion...I worked with Melissa to plan the event over a year ago....she was so professional and accommodating in every aspect....the cocktail party was more than I ever expected...the alumni who attend gave so many compliments regarding the food....service......decor...and pleasant most helpful staff...the 2 bar maids did a wonderful job also...thank you Melissa for all you help during the planning phase of the event...been referring other friends to this venue also...

Love the course, 5 stars, etc., etc., but I gotta get my criticism of #18 off my chest because a simple change would tie a bow on what otherwise is a an outstanding layout and set up. There is a fairly wide creek-bed that splits the fairway. The way the tee-boxes are set up (***assuming you are playing the proper ones for your age and handicap***), it's almost impossible to drive over the creek-bed to the other side, so golfers are left with no choice but to layup short of the creek bed, usually with a longer iron/hybrid, which then leaves you with an uphill 160-180 yard shot into the green.....not fun at all! Why not move the tee boxes up about 20 yards so that golfers at least have to go through a risk/reward analysis of attempting to drive over the creek bed? Some may decide to still lay up short, but others may go for it to give themselves a wedge or short iron into the green. That would give the hole so much more interest (and drama) than the set up now where all the creek bed does is force people to lay up short.

Back in 2015 when i was just a seedling, my buddies and i would play our first ever rounds here for the $19 junior walking rate. My god, those were the days. I hold this place near and dear to my heart. This course is known as one of the best in the philly suburbs, so any makefield slander will not be tolerated. Its just hard to get a tee time here, and they dont open up the grass range enough. Other than that, you’ve got a championship layout, secluded feel, and beautiful property. The workers never bother you either. Makefield on top baby.

The course is beautiful, the event space was large and the food was excellent. Melissa made planning a breeze, was very responsive, and very helpful! The staff the day of our golf outing fundraiser were all friendly, respectful, and responsive. Highly recommend! We already booked our outing for same time next year.
