I wish I could give this place 0 stars. I've never had a more unpleasant experience than the one I had today at Marin Humane. First, let me say that my family and I are animal lovers, and we've always supported the idea and mission behind the Humane Society and animal shelters. We lost our beloved cat (20 years old) a couple of years ago, and were hoping to adopt a kitty for my 11-year-old son, who has a special bond with cats. When my son, daughter and I walked in the door, we were immediately met with attitude and a negative vibe from the ladies working there. They would not let us meet any of the cats. Instead they made excuses like the cats were "too nervous," or "too bitey" or that "meeting people would stress them out." Honestly, it was just very weird, and unlike any experience I've ever had at an animal shelter. The idea should be to bring people in to find loving homes for these animals not make people feel unwelcome and judged. These people have lost the plot. We won't be back.
Very nice visit. The dog did not like us despite the fact that we were ready to get him HOME. But I guess he will not stay forever there, he is too cute. We were happy to visit this shelter driving all the way from Fairfield Green Valley. We are going to miss that dog. Very sweet workers there.
This is a lovely place to visit, donate and adopt a friend. There were some kittens, rabbits. The stuff is amazing and willing to help.
Quality care and services
It was my first time stopping by, I walked in and was only looked at and not greeted or asked if I needed any help from the multitude of staff right at the entrance. Even after I spent a decent amount of time looking at dogs and cats and reading their bios. Awkward and off-putting vibes. Will be adopting elsewhere.
