This is the best animal hospital we have been to since having our fur baby Melina. Reception was friendly and efficient. The vet tech was amazing and understanding. And the Vet- Dr Craig was phenomenal. She understood all my concerns and made sure to answer all my questions (and there were plenty) with thorough answers. Price points were very fair for the work done. I will continue to come back. Thank you so much.
My experience at Marketplace Animal Hospital was outstanding! Dr. Godsey and his tech Gabby were so patient and compassionate. My dog has had a bad past with her injuries so she is nervous of new doctors and vets. This place took that into full consideration and were so good with her. I can’t recommend this vet enough!!!
These guys and gals have now handled vaccines and a potential veterinary emergency for my fur family. They have been SO kind, professional and understanding. They really listened to me and cared for my animals as if they were their own. I’m very grateful to the entire team.
I took my cat here to get his ears checked out and just a check up. The staff here were amazing with him and affordable! The same night unfortunately my cat had an allergic reaction to a rabies shot they gave him, and the next morning after going to urgent care with him they called to check on him and let me know they had him noted for that in his chart. The following afternoon, I called them worried again due to his symptoms and they reassured me and let me know what to do over the phone! They are amazing with care and customer service and I could not recommend them enough.
We adopted our dog in January 2024 and were informed that she had been diagnosed with cancer and had recently undergone surgery to remove a mammary gland carcinoma prior to adoption.
Two weeks ago, we discovered new lumps on our dog and knew we needed to address the situation urgently because of her cancer history. I felt fortunate that Marketplace was able to fit us in for an appointment the day after I found the lumps. During the appointment, the veterinarian performed a fine needle aspirate on only the two lumps we had identified and failed to conduct a thorough examination. After reviewing the samples under a microscope, the veterinarian informed us that there were concerning or questionable cells present. The samples were sent to a pathologist for further evaluation, and we were told we would receive the results on Monday. The appointment took place on a Friday.
On Monday, the veterinarian called and explained that the results were mixed. The pathologist was leaning toward a benign diagnosis but could not rule out cancer. They also mentioned that it would be helpful to have and review the pathology report from my dog's previous cancer diagnosis. I explained that I had already provided a digital copy before the appointment, but I would bring a hard copy to the clinic that afternoon.
I took time off work to drop off the report, only to be told by the receptionist that the clinic already had those records on file. Later that day, the veterinarian and I discussed the next steps and agreed that surgery to remove the masses and submit them for additional testing would be the best way to determine exactly what was happening. I scheduled a second appointment for the required bloodwork along with a $900 surgery right then.
On Tuesday, the veterinarian called again and stated that they had reviewed the 2024 pathology report. They explained that the report described my dog's previous cancer as an aggressive metastatic cancer. Based on that information, they recommended chest X-rays at the next appointment to determine whether the cancer had metastasized to her lungs.
I was shocked by this change in approach because just one day earlier, I had been told that the masses were likely benign. This entire situation had already been emotionally draining, and the sudden shift in tone only made my anxiety worse. At that point, I became worried that the veterinarian had not reviewed my dog's medical records before discussing the initial treatment plan with me on Monday.
Tuesday night, I discovered additional masses while petting my dog. The next day, I called the veterinarian again to better understand what had changed between Monday and Tuesday. I explained that I was confused about how the situation seemed to escalate from 0 to 100 overnight and why chest X-rays had not been recommended from the beginning. The response I received was simply, "I'm sorry you feel that way. I may not have read the chart."
In addition to the emotional stress and heartache this experience has caused, I am now burdened with the cost of another appointment, additional services that should have been considered earlier, surgery, further diagnostic testing, and potentially cancer treatment. My dog and I were not treated with the care, attention, and professionalism that every patient and pet owner deserves. I would not recommend this clinic especially for anyone with serious concerns about their pet's health.
Present Day: Additionally, this clinic states to the specialist I saw that they took x-rays of my dog. The specialist was waiting all week for these supposed x-rays. I had to explain to the staff at the specialist that Marketplace never did any type of imaging on my dog. The specialist staff were told my Marketplace place that they did indeed to x-rays on my dog.
I can't say enough great things about this Vet office. The Front Desk Staff, the Vet Techs, and the Vets all go above and beyond. What I love the most is that they love your animal like it's their own and it shows. They care immensely. It's not just money at this office. I urge people to give them a try as I'm confident you won't be sorry.
