My daughter was getting so frustrated with math. She is 12, she was in K/1st grade during the pandemic, & had some pockets of time that she missed school. She didn’t want to learn math from her silly mother. Math is cumulative. If one misses a rung or two from the ladder it gets more difficult to go up. By 6th grade she couldn’t figure out how to go up or down. She excels in other aspects, & loves to do sports after school. We didn’t want to make her feel like the only thing important is a letter grade, we wanted her to enjoy learning & not just give up & say, “ oh well, I’m just not good at math” or “I’m a girl…”. At first she kinda dreaded going to Mathnasium bc she didn’t want to be judged by testing etc. But after a few visits she honestly really enjoys it. Mathnasium is so flexible she can do her sport as well as choir & we can make it work. The tutors are great, they rotate, it’s not always the same one, but she tells me they have been “good” or “great” (one gets short answers from a tween) Her grade in math has gone up, she enjoys her math teacher at school instead of dreading it.

Thank you so much for sharing your daughter’s story! It means a lot to hear that she’s gone from dreading math to actually enjoying her time with us. We know how frustrating those gaps in learning can be, and we’re so happy she’s starting to feel more confident and seeing that progress at school, too. We love that she can continue doing the sports and choir she enjoys while getting the support she needs. Most of all, we’re grateful to be part of helping her see that she absolutely can be good at math!

Both of my kids attend Mathnasium and have had a wonderful experience. They enjoy going, and the instructors make learning math engaging and fun. We’ve been very happy with the program and would definitely recommend it!

I have appreciated the encouragement given to my kids and the reward system they have in place to encourage completing worksheets and having a positive attitude, which worked well for my kid. Communication is excellent and our family appreciated the flexibility the facility provides with scheduling.
