Maurock Music Academy

I'm currently a student at Maurock and I can proudly say I have enjoyed my experience so far. Playing an instrument wasn't something I grew up doing, and being able to attend Maurock has helped me learn how to play bass guitar + read sheet music, which I loved leaning. All the staff members are really kind + welling to answer any questions you have. Mauricio, is a wonderful and motivating teacher, he's very patient and works at your pace. I will greatly recommend this Music Academy if you're looking to learn or further your playing skills.

I love this place. My daughter has the best piano teacher. He's very patient and he teachers her how to read and play the piano

My son is having a great experience! He plays trombone in his middle school band. He plays effectively, but was still fairly beginner. He gets services through Harbor Regional and is offered social enrichment classes. His choice was music lessons. Maurock had an easy enrollment process, was one of the few places with trombone lessons, and an account established for services already, so that made things easier. They also didn't have any reservations about working with a child who is autistic and ADHD. It was a non-issue, and it seems they have a lot of students with special needs who are thriving. That was a bonus. My son got an introductory lesson from Mario. Mario is instantly likeable, knowledgeable, and flexible within the lessons. My son is currently working on music for a competition coming up and Mario is splitting the lessons between skill building and nailing the music. He's been with Maurock for 2 months now, took a test that he had to submit for band, and we got an email from his band teacher saying how much he's improved, he nailed his test, etc. She even told her husband, who will be his band teacher in high school next year. She's wanting to establish a relationship with Maurock now. My son wants to continue his lessons after his current batch of lessons, which ends in May. The rest of the staff that I've met so far are really great. Really happy with our decision.

As I was hesitant enrolling my son into another music school due to our prior experience with another private instructor who wasn’t at this academy. Funding this academy I was excited 1. they were local and 2. Mauricio was very communicative and understanding. We started with a trial class which automatically I knew would be a perfect fit for my son. Mauricio is very patient with my son and just in a few classes I’ve seen growth with what he has learned. I’m excited to see my son grow and am thankful to have found this academy.

I scheduled and confirmed a trial vocal lesson with Maurock Music Academy for Thursday, July 31 at 7:30 PM at Gardena Location. I clearly stated the exact date and time in my email, and they confirmed that same slot in writing. Then, just 10 minutes before the appointment, I received an email suggesting a different time (6:30-7:00 PM), which had already passed. When I arrived at the originally confirmed time, I was told the lesson was "meant for next week" a change that was never communicated to me beforehand. I followed up professionally to address the issue. Instead of apologizing or taking responsibility, they dismissed the situation as "a mistake" and claimed they had told me in person as if that justified misleading me in writing and wasting my time. This was a clear attempt to deflect blame rather than acknowledge a scheduling failure. At no point did they apologize or offer to make it right. Not even a basic acknowledgment of the inconvenience they caused. If this is how they handle new clients with miscommunication, last-minute changes, and no accountability. I strongly caution others before signing up. First impressions matter, and this was unprofessional from start to finish.

My kids enjoy learning piano and guitar with Mauricio and other teachers. Great value with the four lesson pack and very accommodating with rescheduling when we have a schedule conflict. Highly recommend!!

I enrolled my son in piano here and he loves it. Teachers are great and he has learned a lot since he started. Thank you Maurock Music Academy you guys rock!

I recommend this place. My children have autism, and they do an excellent job with them. The service is excellent, 100% recommended 👌

Idk why it took me forever to write a review here. Maurock Music Academy is an awesome place. Very caring and understanding. Learn Sax, Ukulele, Piano, Drums, Vocals, Guitar, Violin, and Bass. I really appreciate that I am able to come in and practice in between my weekly lessons. Just recently signed up for drums, and since I don't have a set at home, I take advantage. I can spend hours here. Great place for kids and adults. Started with Piano here, and I'll probably move on to Sax next... Idk... let's see how the drums go first. Day 1 was amazing. I'm so motivated.
