I can’t say enough good things about Chase from Max Plumbing! I’ve been using him for the past three years, and he has become my go-to person for anything plumbing-related in my home. He is incredibly responsive, always gets back to me quickly, and does a great job evaluating the issue and explaining what’s going on in a way that actually makes sense. I never feel like I’m being talked over or left wondering what I’m paying for. He takes the time to explain the problem, the options, and what he recommends. He’s friendly, professional, honest, and, most importantly, fair with his pricing. He does excellent work and I have complete confidence in him, which is something that’s hard to find these days. If you’re looking for a plumber you can trust, I highly recommend him. He’s young, hardworking, knowledgeable, and clearly takes pride in what he does. I wouldn’t call anyone else!

Chase came by today to provide an estimate for a small plumbing project. During the visit, he dug up pipes in our backyard, describing it as a “diagnostic test,” and then charged us $125 for it. We regularly get multiple bids before moving forward with any work, and we’ve had three other plumbers evaluate this exact project. None of them performed any digging or charged a fee during the estimate process. They simply assessed the job, provided a quote, and left their contact information. The experience was unexpected and confusing, and it was never clear that this work would be performed or that there would be a charge associated with it. I’m still not entirely sure what happened. Based on this experience, I would not recommend.
Hi, thank you for the feedback, and I’m sorry the visit left you confused. That’s not the experience we want anyone to have. I tried reaching you by phone and I left you a text message. When I arrived the scope required significant digging to locate, assess the material of the line, and give us a more accurate estimate. I quoted you $250 to spend the time digging. If the job was accepted that would be credited to the total cost of the job. The additional diagnostic was warranted because it revealed real concerns in your galvanized steel water line(corrosion,lead poisoning, reduced flow). I recommended replacing the main with pex pipe, you preferred copper which is a great material and something we offered , but comes at a greater cost because of material cost and added labor cost. Because the dig went faster than expected I reduced the diagnostic charge to $125 because the water line was shallow and was found faster than anticipated. I understand other plumbers may have quoted you without digging. Our goal is to give you an accurate diagnosis rather than a guess. I clearly could have done a better job making sure the job was better understood and why I wanted to verify the pipes depth and material. I will take this lesson to heart. Chase Rudders, owner and operator of MAX Plumbing is a true professional and a merit to his profession. He came out to help a couple of hours after I contacted him. Just that was impressive! Chase spent time with me to help determine the source of a water leak. He was professional and thoroughly and patiently explained what he thought might be the problem and suggested the best course of action - contact your water softener guy. It appears the water softener may be the culprit. Thank you, Chase for your generous help and advice! GVP
