We are so happy with the work MC Landscaping did for us! Especially now with the rains here. Priorities for us: working with a local business with integrity + high quality work. Fixing the pooling of water in the patio + making it look inviting rather than a jailhouse. We got: luxurious patio with zero pooling. Be sure you are clear about what you want and negotiate those terms as you sign your contract, have it all in writing for both your sakes. MC Landscaping company did a beautiful job on my backyard. They designed and installed my landscaping. . I use to have a slopping brick patio that was not very user friendly. Now I have a flat patio made with pavers which is more user friendly. Joshua the designer and Leo the project manager were very helpful and professional. And all their crew were friendly and professional as well. I love my new backyard. It was a pleasure doing business with them.

I hired MC Landscaping even though their bid was one of the higher quotes I received because I expected higher-quality workmanship and attention to detail. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. The materials used appear to be good quality, but I encountered multiple issues with the installation. During the project, I discovered that a high-pressure hose line was being buried only about 6 inches deep, I also found that low-voltage landscape wiring had been buried only about 1 to 1.5 inches below grade in several areas.  To their credit, they did come back and address some issues when pressed. However, I felt that too much of my time was spent identifying problems, verifying the work, and pushing for corrections. My expectation when hiring a premium-priced contractor is that the work is done correctly the first time and that I should not have to closely supervise basic installation details. I also had weed barrier installed beneath pea gravel in one area. The project was completed in June 2026, and weeds were already growing through the barrier in multiple locations within approximately two weeks. I was told that weed barrier is designed only to slow weed growth rather than prevent it. While I understand that no weed barrier can permanently eliminate all weeds, seeing weeds emerge in multiple areas so soon after installation seems unreasonable and raises concerns about the quality of the installation. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company and would not hire them again. UPDATE: Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, it actually proves the point of my review. To clarify: I am not referring to the non-pressurized irrigation lateral lines. I have repeatedly clarified that I am referring to the pressurized hose-bib supply line, not a non-pressurized irrigation lateral. The fact that this distinction still seems to be missing from your response is, unfortunately, part of the reason I felt the need to write this review. A licensed landscaping company should know the distinction and install a pressurized water line appropriately. The same issue occurred with the low-voltage wiring. I am posting photos showing wiring buried only about 1–1.5 inches below grade. I was the one who discovered and dug up the wiring while weeding and brought it to your project manager's attention. Your project manager had accepted that installation as completed work. Yes, you ultimately came back and buried the lines and wiring deeper at no charge, which I acknowledged in my review. But that doesn't change the fact that I had to identify the problems and push for them to be corrected. That is exactly why I hired a professional contractor: I shouldn't have to supervise the installation closely enough to discover basic installation issues myself. I stand by my review.

We had a great experience working with MC Landscaping on our recent backyard and front yard renovation. After receiving several estimates, we found their pricing to be competitive without compromising on quality. Josh was the salesperson who first came out for the consultation and estimate. He was patient throughout the process, took the time to understand what we were looking for, and worked hard to accommodate both our vision and budget. Our Project Manager, Leo, was amazing to work with from start to finish. He was responsive, easy to communicate with, and always addressed questions and concerns in a timely manner. His professionalism and attention to detail made the entire process much smoother. We also want to recognize Leo's crew. They were hardworking, respectful, and always pleasant to interact with. This was a major project that took several months to complete, and we are extremely happy with how everything turned out. My wife had been dying to do landscaping for our property. This would be an extensive job of demolition and new pavers, grass, plants, etc. Josh Rust came out to quote us. He was very easy to talk to and he had a great sense of humor. He always made time to meet with us whenever we had a question. So this project was done in 2 phases, hard scaping and demolition and soft scaping. Chris Marroquin and his crew did the hard scaping. Chris was such a great guy and his crew members were very respectful. I also learned some things from Chris. He was very forthcoming with helpful advice. Leo and his crew did the soft scaping. Leo has got to be the all star mvp for this company. Very nice guy and very very accommodating. He’s also an honorable man. This company MC landscaping has been a pleasure to work with. Thank you. We couldn’t be happier with the transformation of our backyard. What used to be a complete mud pit is now a beautiful, resort-quality outdoor space that we love spending time in. Josh and Amber were very accommodating with designing it for us by helping us figure out what we needed/wanted. I was able to see through the 3D layout design what it would look like with and without a fire pit and originally we were going to keep some concrete but their suggestions for pavers looked so much sleeker we could not resist their idea. Amber had a great vision for us right from the start. From start to finish, the team was professional, hardworking, and clearly took pride in their craftsmanship. Luis, Jose and Juan are the very best at the pavers. They brought our vision to life and exceeded our expectations in every way. Leo who was the foreman on the project was in contact with us daily in a text thread and inspected the work done at the end of every day. The attention to detail, communication, and quality of work were outstanding. If you’re looking for a company that can truly transform your space, I highly recommend them. There aren’t enough stars to rate them high enough. This was one of the smoothest most stress free processes I’ve had with a company. Super knowledgable and faster than expected. Our yard had an infestation of dandelions from the neighbors and carpet ivy that had taken over the yard from the previous owner. I’ve never seen the back look this cleared out. Can’t recommend them enough.

There are bold faced lying in the reply to me. I have no missed messages from them. And I never told them not to call me. (I think I've realized what these guys did. See how they claim they reached out to me several times? And then they say I told him not to call again. That didn't happen. I think they were calling the wrong number and the person they were calling finally got sick of it) They absolutely did not use top of the market products. I attached photos of what they installed and the aftermarket parts I bought to make them Wi-Fi compatible. Every single model number is the base model number from the supplier without wifi. Reduced to one star because of the dishonesty. Feel free to actually reach out and not be aggressive when you do it because this is not my fault. And since I wrote that review, half of my lighting system has stopped working but I don't even dare call them for repairs because they've been so rude here in the reply and so dishonest. And stilll my pony wall out there is chipped. They've done absolutely nothing to stand by their work and now they're being cruel to somebody calling them out. I am modifying my review. The team that did the work was great. But the details around the rest... It's been a few years and at this point I've replaced almost every single plant they put in. They didn't at match what I wanted, though that wasn't clear when the plants were young, and many struggled to survive. For one example, I wanted a tree that would grow up and provide some privacy and be evergreen. They gave me a tree that never gets large, is scrawny, and drops all its foliage in the 'winter'... you almost have to work to find that in California. I also said I didn't want many reds... most of my plants turned out to be red including that tree. They damaged a part of my pony wall that they still haven't fixed. I've reached out to them many times to no avail on that front. And this week, while talking to a tech savvy friend, I mentioned that both my sprinkler controller could not automatically adapt to rain conditions, and my lighting controller had to be manually changed for on/off times as day light changes. He asked me what I had and then revealed to me that for very little more, I could have had smart systems for both in the same brands. They chose the cheapest models they could. And that for what I was charged (nearly $100K for the yard) it is an absolutely joke that they used the cheapest systems on the market for this home and this design. I am livid. I just continue to learn more and more about how they cheaped out on everything from plants to hardware while charging me an arm and a leg. We call it the "ocean tax" around these parts. Companies believe that we will just have all this expendable cash and won't notice when they half ass parts of the project. Well, I noticed. ---- I interviewed a few companies before I chose MC and I have no doubt I chose the right company. I had them completely rebuild my front and back yard from what was an overgrown mess in the back and a confusingly awful design in the front to a beautiful space in both with a constant theme and feel that embodies peace, restfulness, and calm bringing in themes of the nearby ocean and tropical vibes. Perfect! !' he said. Everyone that walks by as I sit out front enjoying my new space compliments the work and tells me what an improvement it is. I have kept the MC sign in my yard and see people writing the number down or they ask me for the contact. That's how you know they did good work! The price was right for two small yards, but two small yards that needed completely gutting and a complicated design with curving paver paths, water features, and plant design. Not to mention the demo of the old yard I hope to forget about soon. I want to personally thank Lino, Arturo, Pedro, Otoniel, Pablo, Edgar, Servando, and José. Leo and Amber as well. The team was responsive, thorough, detail oriented, professional, kind, and talented. I highly recommend them to anyone. There wasn't a task they couldn't handle, and handle well.

I want to express how happy I am with the front yard landscaping project done by MC Landscaping. They have been terrific from the design phase to the completion of the work. I was able to get a 3D rendition of the design so I could see how it will actually appear and the final project looked exactly like it. Leo, who managed the project, could not have been nicer. He was so kind and easy to work with. I could see how nice he was with the crew as well which said a lot. The crew were so hard working and didn’t take any shortcuts to get the job done. They worked very diligently and made my front yard look like a showcase. At the end of everyday they cleaned up everything so there was no mess left around my property. I would highly recommend MC Landscaping and would definitely use them again.
