Our family has had the pleasure of working with Michelle and her team on two separate occasions. Both turned out absolutely fabulous!! I have nothing but great things to say about Michelle and would steer anyone her way without hesitation.

Michelle did our living room, dining room and bedroom almost 8 years ago. The furniture has held up great and we still love the style. She pushed us a little out of our comfort zone with red leather dining chairs but they are my favorite now. She’s also great a balancing opinions between me and my partner which is one of the hardest parts of her job. She’s also been incredibly responsive since then when we wanted to make small tweaks. Overall loved working with Michelle and I would definitely ask her to do any other spaces that we have.

(Pardon the non-professional cellphone photos!) Our family of four had a wonderful experience working with MDID on our home renovation. Michelle took the time to understand each of our individual styles and what we wanted our space to feel like, blending all of our unique preferences seamlessly into the design. And, it wasn’t an easy task with the differing opinions and preferences in the family. She balanced creativity, practicality, and our constraints to bring our dreams to life. Michelle’s ideas encouraged us to step just outside our comfort zone, resulting in a home that feels both unique and authentically “us.” Throughout the process, Michelle and her team were organized, professional, and detail-oriented. They provided options at different price points and were always mindful of our budget, which we really appreciated. Communication was always clear and prompt. She stayed engaged with us and the construction company, flexibly adapting to the inevitable curve balls that came our way. We did face some real difficulties selecting a general contractor and major bumps along the way with different subcontractors, and Michelle risked offering insights from her depth of experience in a very respectful manner to guide us. She remained attentive to every last detail and was an advocate for us throughout the whole design and build process. We know we couldn’t have gotten the house we now have at the amount we spent without MDID. We loved working with Michelle and her team. We know we saved time, money, and our sanity, and we feel very spoiled living in our beautiful home! It’s gorgeous. We highly recommend working with MDID.

If homes could talk, ours would be singing Michelle Dirkse’s praises! We enlisted Michelle and her stellar team to transform our home with two main goals: Allowing in more natural light while infusing it with vibrant splashes of color and she nailed it! Michelle and Leah were able to articulate our vision and blend modern aesthetics with eclectic charm, creating spaces that are inviting and inspiring in our home. Even though we were traveling for large parts of the renovation, Michelle seamlessly coordinated with our contractors, ensuring every element of the design was executed flawlessly. Her fierce attention to detail and sharp design sense along with her professionalism made the renovation process smooth and painless. Now, every corner of our home radiates with light and color, reflecting Michelle’s exceptional talent and our personalities. Our home is now a testament to her brilliance, and we couldn’t be more thrilled!

We worked with Michele and her team on four different projects over a period of 7 years. For some of those projects we had a rough a vision of what we wanted and MDID made it real. For some of the projects, we gave them our full trust and freedom to design a new concept for us and allowed them to surprise us. At every time, we have been very satisfied with their work. Their designs reflect our personal style and aesthetics while pushing our boundaries of what initially had in mind. Every day, we love living in the space the created for us. The design, their understanding of us and our style, the collaboration, and the finally the implementation have all been great. They are a very creative team that can work across different styles, with very professional execution.

Michelle and her team are complete pros with an incredible eye. They totally transformed the rooms they worked on in our home, and were able to bring us concepts we never would have conceived on our own but were distinctive, functional, and gorgeous. She knows how spaces flow, what works, what doesn't, and how to make it all come together in a way that feels fresh and not contrived in the slightest. I cannot recommend Michelle more for any interior design projects that you may need - you won't be disappointed if you hire her!
