Josh and his crew just left my house after spending two days solving an unsolvable problem. Last year we had a sunroom added to the outside of our house and every time it rained hard, water somehow got behind my existing James Hardie fiber cement siding and got into the room. The builder came back out several times and was not able to figure out how to stop the water from coming and finally gave up and said it was a problem with the siding that had been on the house since before we moved in. I called several siding companies and Josh was one of the few that was willing to come out and attempt the project. He got me on the schedule quickly and spent two full days stripping back the old siding, diagnosing the problem, putting on new flashing and kick outs and house wrap before replacing all of the siding in the area. As I write this, their painter is making it look like nothing was ever wrong. Josh is going to be my first call next time I need any exterior work done.

Amazing transformation and quality. We had the entire exterior of our house redone. Siding, deck, doors, and porch. I can honestly say Josh has put together a very talented group of people. I was able to be here and watched what and how they accomplished their work. The attention to detail was beyond our expectations. Highly recommend Michigan Siding & Deck. They handled our exterior renovation (siding repair and paint, soffits, windows, gutters) and installed a massive new Trex deck. Both turned out excellent.
We got three quotes for the job, and Josh, the owner, came in with the best price while still giving us more for our money. He operates with a true customer-first mindset: informal, personable, and invested in the relationship. He must have said "I just want to make you guys happy" a hundred times, and he meant it.
When he first walked the job, he flagged potential challenges (an older home, a deck attached to brick, possible lakefront variances), so we were well prepared when they came up later. At signing, we asked for a more detailed contract, and he had no problem putting everything he said in writing and signing it.
Josh understands you can't foresee everything on a project like this. Instead of nickel-and-diming you with change orders for every unforeseen item, he works with you on a solution and gets the job done. Every judgment call and suggestion they made went toward a better finished product, never toward cutting corners or cost. When we did make larger changes, they were priced very fairly.
The job did run longer than planned due to delays with variance approvals, material shipment, and inspections, none of which were under their control. Whenever they could work, the siding and deck crews were on site cranking the job out, often five or more people at a time.
Josh checked in often and was on site regularly. Chuck, the deck lead, was top notch and demanded a level of quality that shows in the finished product. Contractors quoting other projects at our house have already complimented their craftsmanship, especially on the deck.
We'd hire them again without hesitation.

Josh and his crew were amazing. A huge oak fell during the most recent storm and on the way down impaled our house! Josh did more than the job promised! Their was hidden damage and when the plywood was removed, the branch had impaled a stud and broke it! Josh repaired it all and didn't add a cent to the already very reasonable quote! Thank you Josh! Highly recommend Josh and his team! They recently installed James Hardie siding, Trex Enhance decking, and a new kitchen slider for us.
Josh and his crew were in constant communication, continuously asking if there was anything they could tweak or do better to ensure the final product matched our exact vision. Any minor questions we raised were addressed immediately, and they even assured us that since they're right around the corner, they can always pop back by if any questions come up in the future.
Both the siding and decking crews were polite, hard-working, and extremely thorough. They respected our schedule, cleaned up our property, and went above and beyond by helping with extra landscaping, removing a tree, and fixing some rotting wooden window frames for us.
Pricing was competitive, and it was great working with an involved local owner without dealing with subcontracting. 10/10 service and craftsmanship. We love our new siding and deck!

I needed my deck replaced as it was looking pretty bad. Josh worked with me to figure out what would look best within my budget. I went with the Trex for the deck itself and then wood railings. It turned out pretty good. If there was an issue, Josh was willing to do what was needed to correct it. He found some rotting wood on my condo hidden behind my old deck, so he let me know about it right away. I had him repair that at a reasonable cost. His crew was very friendly and wanted to make sure I was happy with their work. I appreciate all the work that they did. Thanks so much!

Josh and his crew replaced our siding with James Hardie Cedarmill® planks. We were pleased that James Hardie had the color, Evening Blue, in their ColorPlus® collection that was a close match to our old siding’s color. We were also very pleased with the workmanship, attention to detail and professionalism that this company provided. From beginning to end, they worked with us to ensure that the project and any concerns we had were addressed to our complete satisfaction. Josh’s crew takes pride in the work they perform, and it shows in the final product. Every day they arrived on time and worked hard and smart. At the end of the day, they tidied up their materials and cleaned up the work area so it was safe for us. The crew also took great care protecting our landscaping and lawn, which is not always easy with jobs like this. If we had to do this again, we would choose Michigan Siding and Deck to do the job, and would have no hesitation recommending them to family and friends.

Met with multiple siding companies and ultimately chose Josh because he is honest, to the point and knowledgeable. He gave me ideas about color and design that no other company offered.
