Modena Allergy + Asthma - Torrance

My first visit was very good. I waited less than 10 minutes to be called in.<br>The front desk personnel was professional and kind. The PA was also very nice and knowledgeable.<br>I have to return to have them conduct an allergy test.

I am so thankful full I found Dr Banka. I have never felt so taken care of by a doctor who legitimately cares. I was in tears when she told me being hospitalized for Asthma was NOT going to be my story and she will fix me up. I have been going regularly for my care and love my experience here every time. Dr. Banka and the front desk team is so kind and generous. So thankful for this practice!!

Dr Ovunc has now seen my daughter Miranda, she was very caring, attentive, and took the time to listen to our concerns. We left very satisfied with her care for our little one. Also, the staff is friendly and compassionate with our babies. Mireya was very thoughtful and showed a lot of patience with our baby. Thank you again for the great service.

Dr. Tchekmedyian is wonderful! Very knowledgeable, very thorough, answered all of our questions regarding our baby’s moderate ezcema and prescribed a treatment that actually worked!

Highly professional, flexible with scheduling and efficient! We see a pediatric allergist here and it’s been a good experience, even with kids toys in the patient rooms. Appreciate that they handle most of their paperwork and documents online, which saves so much time. The care here is top-notch. Highly recommend!

When I first began my children’s journey for food allergies and eczema, I had a hard time with our first specialist. I knew nothing about food allergies and eczema however I was a desperate mother so I threw myself into learning everything I could. My first doctor and I bumped heads a lot and had many disagreements. He was very dismissive and shut down any view I had of it didn’t align with his textbook. I’ve left that office crying a couple times and felt defeated and unheard. It was so easy for him to tell me all I needed to do was follow his “plan/regimen” in order to heal my son. He basically told me I was the reason my son’s eczema was so severe and needed to slap some steroids on him.<br><br>I switched my approach and went holistic. I was sick of not getting the answers I needed in order to heal my child. Fast forward to me talking with my children’s pediatrician and I told her what a horrible experience I was having and although I went holistic, needed to have a specialist for their food allergies which were severe. My pediatrician recommended Modena Allergy & Asthma and said other patients have nothing but great things to say about the office.<br><br>When I met with Dr. Tchekmedyian it was a pleasant conversation. I wasn’t attacked for my views, concerns, or approach on my kid’s health. He did politely explain the importance of possibly adding specific prescriptions and encouraged me to explore other options and do my research, which I respected. Never once has he pushed anything on me I didn’t agree with or align with views. He has been nothing but respectful towards my previous experiences and works with me on my children’s health issues. Since my approach is more holistic, I understand it can be challenging for those in the medical field to dismiss my hippie approach but when you have doctors who do their best to understand your views it make an effort to find common ground it makes the experience less stressful than it already is. His staff is also wonderful and I’ve had great interactions with them! I’ve already recommended Modena to a handful of friends.
