Kylie is the best!!!!! A perfect place for any event.
I had the pleasure of working with Layza, and she did an absolutely amazing job on my makeup! I showed her my inspiration photo, and she brought my vision to life perfectly. Honestly, the final look turned out even more beautiful than I expected! I couldn’t have been happier with the results. Hands down, I highly recommend this makeup bar, and definitely ask for Layza!
What a wonderful experience! And beautiful makeup!
I really wanted to like this place! I frequently have last-minute events and photoshoots, so I was excited that I was able to book a same-day appointment. Unfortunately, the experience was not worth it. I’ve had my makeup professionally done numerous times, and I also used to do makeup myself, so I’m very familiar with the application process. I genuinely tried to trust the process while also communicating my concerns as the artist worked. Unfortunately, the more products she applied, the worse the makeup looked. At one point, another artist mentioned that the makeup just needed to be set with powder. However, when you’re working with a foundation that’s approximately 2–3 shades darker than someone’s actual complexion and then attempting to correct it with an extremely light concealer or highlight, setting powder isn’t going to fix the issue. To be clear, I explained from the beginning that I prefer natural-looking face makeup with dramatic eyes. I also mentioned that I’m not a huge fan of blush but wouldn’t mind a little, as other makeup artists have applied it lightly in the past and I’ve liked the results. I specifically mentioned that I love highlighter. In fact, the artist finished my sentence before I could, which made me believe she understood the look I was going for. I will give her credit for attempting to make adjustments whenever I expressed that I didn’t like something. However, looking back, I honestly should have stopped the appointment rather than continuing. I had a birthday photoshoot scheduled for 4 p.m., and we finished my makeup around 2 p.m. After leaving, I went home, completely removed the makeup, and redid my entire face myself. That’s how unhappy I was with the results. For reference, the photo on the left shows the artist’s work, while the photo on the right shows the makeup I did myself. The other photos are from past artist work. I’m naturally not a confrontational person, and situations like this make me extremely uncomfortable. So, for me to speak up as many times as I did during the appointment says a lot. I was hoping the artist would recognize that I wasn’t happy with how things were turning out. When she finished, I simply said it was “okay.” I never stated that I loved it or was happy with the final result. Truthfully, the only thing I liked at that moment was my lip makeup. After getting a closer look at my eyeshadow, I realized I wasn’t pleased with that either. Initially, I thought I liked it, but upon closer inspection, the application wasn’t clean or well-blended. Another thing worth mentioning is that I had to remind her at the very end to do my eyebrows. They felt rushed, and I honestly think that by that point, we were both uncomfortable and ready for the appointment to be over. What makes this even more disappointing is that I truly wanted to find a reliable makeup studio I could return to, especially since I often need professional makeup for events and photoshoots. I wasn’t expecting perfection, but I did expect my complexion to be matched properly, my preferences to be considered, and the finished look to reflect professional-quality work. I understand that makeup is an art and every artist has their own technique. However, being able to listen to a client’s concerns and execute a look that complements their features and complexion is an important part of the service. I hate that this was my experience, especially on a day when I was preparing for my birthday photoshoot. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I will not be returning.
Just wanted to leave a quick review after my experience yesterday! We all booked appointments for a 40th birthday celebration, and I had the pleasure of having Olivia do my makeup. I genuinely don’t think I’ve ever felt more beautiful! I received SO many compliments, and she made me feel like an actual model. She was so kind, creative, and clearly talented at what she does. Also, My makeup held up ALL night, even through a literal rainstorm! If you’re looking for someone who can make you look and feel your absolute best, Olivia is your girl. I couldn’t recommend her more!
I had a great experience at this makeup bar. Savannah did my makeup and she did a great job. I totally recommend her. The salon is beautiful and very clean. I will definitely come back to this place in the future.
They made me look great for my birthday! I got so many compliments, I literally got one within 30 seconds of walking out of the store lol. I was a little scared to book a new artist since I’m from Milwaukee and never been to Nashville before, but I’m glad I chose this place. The artist was really sweet and accommodating to all the changes my picky self asked her to make 🤣 she did my base really well, I have acne and scarring pretty bad but you could hardly tell . It also lasted me 8 hours in the 90 degree heat while at bars and stuff. If I ever find myself in Nashville again I will definitely come back
Courtney was amazing!! LOVE the way my soft glam turned out
Everyone was so sweet and they did such a good job! Special shoutout to Ashley
