My recent dental care experience here was frustrating. In the end my dog got the cleaning and extractions she needed, but she suffered longer than necessary and racked up extra bills due to overly optimistic early assessments and poor communication. I came in describing months of clear dental issues and expected she needed a cleaning with multiple extractions given her small-breed risk for aggressive periodontal disease. The vet was noncommittal and offered to start with sedation and X-ray since it could be scheduled sooner and might rule out the need for full anesthesia and extractions. That approach delayed necessary care, and the delay was compounded by having to separately request a pre-anesthesia blood panel after the sedation, which then had to be repeated due to artifact before scheduling. Throughout the process New Hope's communication was reactive - I had to chase every next step myself and received no phone calls while my dog was in the clinic under their care. When I reached out a few times for a chance to speak with the vet before the extraction procedure, her call came days later, long after hours, with the vet sounding overworked. By the time of the procedure my dog’s condition had significantly worsened and 13 teeth had to be removed. Your milage may vary, but I wish I had brought my dog across town to a different vet. I get the impression that New Hope is taking on more than they can handle.
We've been multiple animal customers of NHAH. We couldn't be more happy at the 20+ years of frequening Dr. Windram's place of work has been a pleasure for us and our pets.

Cannot say enough about the good folks at New Hope Animal Hospital. We have been coming here for years after a less-than-ideal experience at another local vet, and the people here have never let us down. We see Dr. Soren, mainly, but have seen others in the past, and couldn't ask for a better clinical team. From the doctors and nurses to the front desk, it is clear the people here love what they do. I have recommended this place to all of my friends and family.

New Hope is fantastic! From the vets to the techs to the front desk, they are all so friendly and helpful.
We recently had to put our elderly dog down, and the staff at New Hope ensured it was a dignified, respectable process. Tech Melanie gave our sweet old girl a bowl of hot chocolate to drink from the break room, and vet Christine was a kind and compassionate soul throughout. She sent a follow up card immediately afterwards, which was such a nice sentiment. Prior to this visit, we had a an appointment for a general check up and to address quality of life and Christine pointed us to some amazing OSU resources to help with the decision and grieving process. During a very bad, not good day, New Hope Animal Hospital was a tiny sliver of light and goodness and helped ensure our family was as taken care of as they could contribute.

Recently our sweet pit bull Giblet needed a mast cell tumor removed. Though Dr. Pineda is a recent addition to NHAH, our pup got the excellent level of care this vet practice is known for from Drs. Windram and Bush. We got: a prompt diagnosis, clear info about the surgery and post surgery care, and meds to keep her comfortable afterwords. All has gone well. Stitches come out this week!
