I was visiting Sioux Falls for work, reached out to Next Edge Academy and they were extremely welcoming. As someone that travels a lot for work and visits different gyms this is been the most organized place I have been when It comes to drop ins, coach Bruce is attentive to all his students even on a large class, the mats are clean and so are all the facilities. One great thing about this place is that everyone I dealt with was trully there to learn and have a good work out, zero egos found. Coach Bruce has a very interesting way of teaching, ensuring that every person at all levels can walk away with a new piece of knowledge, if you are visiting Sioux Falls definitely do a drop in, and by the way they have some cool gear to remember your experience!!! . Also if you live in Sioux Falls SD or surrounding areas you definitely need to come in and get started, all ages welcomed and encouraged to start in the wonderful world of Jiu Jitsu, and if that's not your thing... Well they also have awesome facilities for Boxing and Mui Thai !!! 100% recommend

Thanks for the kind words Steven! Hope to have you back soon. We loved having you in the gym.
What kind of man yells at a 15 year old who is in a beginner class for not knowing code of conduct. Isn't it the teacher's job to show the basics of what is acceptable and unacceptable? An adult instructor should know this. Good job scaring away a child from a youth activity that could have been a life long passion.

I’m sorry that this was your experience, and I understand why it was upsetting. Our goal is always to provide a safe, respectful training environment for every student.
Because martial arts training can involve physical risk, we do have to make sure students are listening closely during instruction, especially during drills where safety matters. That said, we never want a student or parent to feel embarrassed, unwelcome, or discouraged from training.
I’m sorry for the way this situation came across. We will use this as a reminder to communicate expectations more clearly, especially with newer students. I would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you directly and better understand your concerns. You are always welcome back if can earn back that trust. We loved having your son in the adult class.
Bruce and his team are absolute professionals. Top notch facility and great people. They are developing world class talent as well as welcoming newcomers. I spent a few weeks in town and they were fantastic. Highly recommend.
Great academy. I stopped in to train while I was traveling and everyone was very friendly and inviting. The instruction was high quality and the rolls were great!
I brought a crew of high school students in to try out a class, and these instructors were so patient with them. They not only taught, they also inspired. Each person was professional, kind, and extremely knowledgeable. I will recommend Next Edge Academy to anyone interested.
