Phil is a very supportive and kind Oboe teacher. He is an individual that ensures you are improving no matter your experience with the oboe and music overall.

Phil has been a phenomenal teacher and mentor to my son. Even before their first session, he took the initiative to learn more about my son and understand his needs and goals. As my son was a high school senior, he also became a valuable resource for college guidance and information. Aside from being a great oboe teacher, Phil also shows genuine dedication to his students. Even after my son completed his lessons, he continued to be accessible for support whenever needed. He consistently goes above and beyond for his students, and his commitment to their success is truly exceptional.

I enjoyed learning with Phil. He uses his extensive music theory knowledge to give gentle, constructive feedback and always strives to help students succeed.

What do you expect from a great teacher? For me, it's not simply that he or she provides you with knowledge and inspiration, it's that they understand what you are all about – and meet you there. Phil does this in the most sensitive and supportive way. It's not a "lesson" experience as much as a discovery that you embark on as a team. I feel lucky I found him.
