I had no prior gym experience before going to Oak and Iron, now I'm spoiled! I came for personal training with Melody, and that was an outstanding experience. A year later joined the fitness classes and those have all been amazing. Even though I was brand new to weight training every instructor has helped me feel confident in what I am doing and perform a great workout safely and effectively.
Huge shoutout to Melody, the kettlebell kween, who knows how to take a workout from great to incredible, truly an expert with her knowledge, cues, and great energy.

I have been coming to O+I for almost two months now and have been very pleased with my experience! I stumbled upon the gym while using a free trial with ClassPass and figured I'd give it a shot. My very first class I was greeted by Melody and she thoroughly explained the workout process and gave me a tour of the facility. She also coached the session, providing explanations and demos of each exercise. I started with two sessions per week and have now gone up to three. I really enjoy the LIFT classes. They are challenging but I see myself improving each week! Everyone is so kind and welcoming in the classes. The coaches vary throughout the day/week but no matter who is there for my session they always make a point to introduce themselves, monitor form, correct any mistakes, and most importantly, cheer me on. The programs are well curated and I enjoy seeing my progress week over week. I would recommend this gym (particularly LIFT) to anyone like me who has an interest in strength training but doesn't know where to start and loves the encouragement and accountability of a group class. Thank you Oak and Iron!

Coming up on two years at Oak and Iron, and I can confidently say it has been one of the best investments I've made in myself.
From the moment I walked through the door and was welcomed by the team, I knew this place was different. My first conversation with Matt wasn't just about signing up for a gym membership. It was a genuine discussion about my fitness goals and how the Oak and Iron community could help me achieve them.
This is not your average gym. When people say the community here is real, they mean it! You're never treated like a number. The coaches genuinely care about the members, and everyone is incredibly welcoming, supportive, and encouraging, no matter where you are in your fitness journey.
The programming is top-notch and thoughtfully designed to meet people where they're at while still challenging them to improve. I'm the strongest and fittest I've been since my days playing sports as a teenager. The class schedule is flexible, and the small-group training format allows for the coaching, feedback, and attention you need from an amazing team of trainers.
What surprised me most is that Oak and Iron has become so much more than a place to work out. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved outside of classes, and as someone who moved to Raleigh not knowing many people, the community here has played an instrumental role in my experience living in the area and in my overall well-being.
If you're looking for more than just a workout and want to be part of a community that genuinely cares about its members, Oak and Iron is the place to be!

Truly a best-in-class Team & facility - since finding this gym, I've had extremely positive experiences across their entire spectrum of class offerings. It's inspiring to see the hard work being put in by such a diverse group every single day. Oak & Iron takes the guesswork out of equation - highly recommend if you want to see real results!

This gym has the rating it does for a very good reason. The entire team is fantastic, the workouts will leave you exhausted (and feeling rewarded), and the people that come for the classes are friendly and want to work hard. It's a great environment to come and give your all, get in shape, and maybe make some friends.
They also go above and beyond. They'd recommend stretches to help solve my knee pain, they'll give tips during workouts to help you get the most out of it without injuring yourself, and constantly evolve and change workouts to push your body.
Can't recommend them highly enough. Moved out of state recently and it's going to be tough to find a gym this good in my new location. They set a really high bar.

10/10 recommend Oak & Iron! I have only ever strength trained so I knew what I was capable of but going to a new gym is always scary... until it isn't. The trainers, members, equipment, playlists, etc all do not come to play! From the first day I joined everyone was so welcoming, it really made me feel like I'd been there for months.
There's preconceived notions that a strength gym is going to be 100% hard all the time, but don't worry the trainers at O&I only want the best for each member. They meet each of us where we are and will push you if you want it or just let you go through the motions. It's the perfect place for literally any age or strength level (everyone starts somewhere).
It's also good to note that I enjoy how many classes there are every day! There's quite literally a class time for everyones schedule + a time slot for Open Gym if you're able to attend!

I have been going to Oak and Iron fitness since August. The moment I walked into this gym, I was greeted by Diana, one of the warmest people I have had the pleasure of meeting and an amazing trainer. I was also greeted by Matt, the owner, who is also an amazing person and trainer. It was a no-brainer for me to join this gym. Everyone that works here and works out here are all phenomenal people. This is more than just a gym, it is community. I feel something missing when I can't make it to a Monday Lift with Ghage (another fabulous trainer) or miss my Friday Lift with Diana. If you are looking for a place to workout and start your fitness journey, look no further than Oak and Iron. The only push is to be better than you were yesterday. You OWE it to yourself to join the O+I family!
