Our 3 year old YorkiPoo, Gigi, had always been reactive to outside activity and visitors. Then she began showing aggression to visitors and our other pets. We had used Pack AMO previously for boarding so booked a free transformation session with Aaron. After reviewing options we signed up for the 4 week/1 day a week training session. It has a been a game changer. Gigi would attend for an entire day. Following a session Aaron would meet with us and review her training. He provided specific activities for us to work on with her throughout the week until her next session. We immediately saw a change in her behavior. She has graduated from the program. We regularly use the methods we were taught and she is a much calmer, controlled dog. Aaron was awesome to work with. Very understanding of Gigi’s behavior and provided specifics for us to use with her. 100% recommend.
Aaron and his team have been taking care of our dogs for a decade. Our quirky Beagle/Lab mix is a hot mess around people, but she loves Aaron and his colleagues.
We leave our pup at AMO with full confidence. They monitor dogs closely and know them all by name.
Aaron is a gifted trainer, and he continues to attend classes around the country to learn the latest techniques. He is also an educator, and shares his wisdom with his team and clients.
We are very grateful that AMO, voted the Press-Citizen's #1 Pet Kennel in Johnson County, is in our area.
Aaron was very helpful with getting WCDC Service Dog, Cheyenne trained and working with our clients in the training process. Aaron was also a great help in getting Cheyenne certified so that she can fly with us which is a great help with her training. Cheyenne is a board collie/Austrialian Shepherd Mix and was pretty timid and Aaron help alot with this too. I would recommend him for any of his services because he genuinely cares about you and your dog.
Gracie struggled with reactivity. We couldn't walk by bicycles, joggers, walkers, dogs, bunnies without her jumping up and barking uncontrollably. Now, we have calm walks with only the occasional dog causing her to bark, but we can redirect now which is great.
Price assessment: Reasonable price
Services: Dog boarding with training, Dog boarding
Phenomenal. Aaron and his team, I can't speak highly enough about them. I saw Aaron walking a pack of 5 dogs, all loose leashed (the leashes were draped over his shoulder!) in the Iowa City Ped Mall, and saw how subtle and calm he was with the dogs, I knew he was the trainer for our Australian Shepherd, Bash.
Bash was anxious and highly reactive towards other dogs. Aaron knows an incredible amount of dog psychology and tailored a plan just for Bash. WHAT A TURN AROUND! We have a dog who can manage his emotions (with newly learned guidance from his family, again thanks to Aaron) when seeing other dogs on the street, and can even take him to a cafe patio without his old anxious patterns taking center stage.
Aaron is not only great with dogs, but knows how to teach people, too. He is kind, patient, and encouraging.
We love our dog even more, now that he is a well mannered member of the family, thanks to Pack AMO.
Working with Aaron and the rest of the crew has been a fantastic experience. I had almost given up on being able to take an enjoyable walk with my Aussie boy. After 6 weeks of daycare training Artemis not only learned good behavior, he became an entirely better regulated dog. He's more relaxed in different situations and he's able to calm down much more quickly after stressful situations. Probably the best part about working with PackAMO has been applying what I've learned not only with Artemis, but with the other dogs in my household. I feel like I have a community of people now who will benefit all my current dogs and the dogs I'll surely have in the future.
We found Pack Amo through a recommendation from a friend and it was the best thing we could have done. We did board and train for both of our dogs. We had done a few obedience classes for basic skills but still seemed to struggle. Our older dog is sweet with basic obedience. Our younger dog was reactive to everything (chasing cars, birds, squirrels, leash pulling, etc) and had some resource guarding issues. It was quite a stressor for us and we could not take him for walks or in public. After his board and train he is more content and a happier dog. He is less stressed and knows how to relax. Aaron gave us the tools for how to keep training him and working with him in a way that’s manageable, enjoyable and without stress. Aaron is a talented and invested trainer who developed a strong bond with our dog and helped us understand his needs and triggers. He is different than other trainers that we have used because of his way of understanding the root of behavioral issues. Additionally, he’s been incredibly available and helpful whether it was regular updates during our dog’s training or helping us via phone, text or coming to our house. We recommend Aaron to everyone who will listen and are very grateful that we found him.
Aaron at Pack Amo had been a recommended by a friend and I have been absolutely blown away by him and his staff. I came to Pack Amo because my dog started having some guarding issues and we were moving from the country to town and I wanted some help preparing her for that transition. As she was a car chaser, among other things. We have now moved and I am so thankful for all of hard work, patience, and time Pack Amo put into our Gigi girl. I liked that Aaron was honest and direct about my dog’s issues and able to make a plan that worked for everyone in order for us to be successful. He puts so much heart and soul into the dog’s (and their owners). The biggest takeaway I’ve learned from Aaron is how to communicate with my dog. With this I am able to train or teach her what I want even beyond what he has helped to train her already. Thank you Aaron and Pack Amo team!
We sent our 2.5 year old Shiba Inu to Pack AMO’s 6 week board and train program and it was the best gift we ever gave ourselves. We can take our dog out in public and she is able to relax and not freak out at every little thing. She is great around other people and dogs. We’ve even started traveling with her and she does great on long trips! She is a great guest at other people’s homes and has received invites back to our family
Members’ homes we are not pet people! So thankful for Pack Amo and all we have learned from them. We will continue to use their services as long as we’re in the area! Highly recommend.
