Only went here because my kitty is missing from Norton Mt Vernon Blvd area, but they don't take in cats right now. However, they gave me some ideas on how to search for him.
This is a great not-for profit that helps kittens and cats. All foster based so they are raised up in homes. They fo require an application to be filled out to adopt. Go on over to their website to prequalify that way when your perfect cat or kitty comes along, you can speed things up and take thrm home that day. If you aren't adding to your household, maybe consider fostering. Great to work with.

Typically when you fill out an online app expressing interest in adopting the rescue contacts you. Not a peep from them. I’ve adopted 2 healthy happy kittens from a different rescue.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️The staff is amazing and so helpful! They work very hard to vet applicants. If you read negative reviews they are probably from people who were not approved for an adoption and are disappointed or upset. This can be for so many reasons from landlords to safety, stability, or compatibility concerns. The shelter makes a lifetime commitment to every animal and invests so much time and resources to each one that they try to choose the best placement. Please consider them for your next rescue adoption!♥️

I just wanted to say thank you to Paws and Prayers. Five years ago I lost my fur baby and came across your website. I found a profile of a cat named Lilly and made an appointment to go see her. Once I saw her I knew she was coming home with me. Then a great surprise happened. I found out she was a bonded pair with a cat named Panda. Needless to say I have two amazing fur babies that my family and I love, adore and spoil!!! The people that help this organization are outstanding individuals. They absolutely love each and every animal that comes through their doors. My family and I greatly appreciate everything you do. Thank You again for the happiness that you brought to our family!
Adopted a Siamese Mix cat. These wonderful people saved her from death. She was found with a deep gash in her groin. The original rescue was going to euthanize her. Paws & Prayers took her in and treated her gash. You can't even tell she was in such bad condition. She was clean, vaccinated, spayed, wormed, microchipped. She has added so much joy and laughter to our lives. Wonderful rescue! And an all volunteer crew. Minimal paid staff. It's not common today to find volunteers so dedicated.
I was hesitant to apply with this rescue based on previous experiences and interactions with Paws and Prayers. Never again. No approval, no denial and finally a response that wasn't even accurate on Paws and Prayers side. When we adopt it will be with a rescue that we are comfortable using going forward. I didn't want to leave this review because I don't want to negatively impact rescue animals but Paws and Prayers can potential turn potential adopters off to going with a rescue.
