I’m so glad my daughter came to Personalized Prep for SAT prep tutoring. She first did a practice diagnostic test and after a few months of weekly tutoring when she took SAT she was way up in her score and so confident in herself. So grateful for Sean and staff. The absolute best! So kind and patient and my daughter wouldn’t want to go to anyone else.
Sean Yen is a fantastic tutor! As the name suggests, he makes an effort with every one of his students to deliver a personalized experience. Teaching skills ranging from from simplified SAT techniques to hone in sections I was strong in and more unconventional methods to bring out strengths I didn't know I had, he not only helped me raise my SAT score 170 points, but he also got me past the aversion to math and statistics I'd had throughout high school! Past being an amazing teacher, his warm and hilarious personality hits you right away. When you tell him something - whether a story about your family, a college you're working to go to, a movie you liked, or a dream career -- he will remember. He is a strong teacher and a valued friend, and I couldn't recommend him enough.
Personalized Prep has helped me immensely. Sean helped me with ACT prep and when I started to struggle in school he also helped me with that. He helped me in math, Spanish, and Chemistry. Sean is a good teacher and will find a way to help study for anything. I would highly recommend anyone come to Personalized Prep.
This is an outstanding tutoring place that greatly improves my personal skills and helps me develop new skills for my future
My tutor Sean Yen has been phenomenal to say the least. I was falling behind in my AP Calculus AB class due to the lack of teaching. As soon as Mr. Yen stepped in and took the time to explain in detail all of the lessons thoroughly, I understood the material very well and very accurately. In just a few short weeks he taught me everything I needed to know from an entire semester and my grade went up almost 20%. I can’t wait to keep working with him as a college student.
I was referred to Sean by my girlfriend, who used his services at Personalized Prep for ACT prep a few years ago. When I started studying for the LSAT, I knew I wanted a tutor I could meet with one-on-one in-person, and could help give me an edge beyond traditional test prep. Sean delivered exactly that and more. We met biweekly to go over progress, strategy, and upcoming assignments, and to reflect on past work with a strong focus on the key takeaways. Sean helped me build confidence in my abilities, taking my initial score from around a 145 to now consistently scoring around 170. Sean's approach goes beyond just the test material. He emphasizes strategy and mindset which both, I think, are often underrated when it comes to performance, but extremely important. Thanks again, Sean! I’ll definitely be recommending you to any future pre-law students looking for hands-on, personalized help studying for the LSAT.
I love working with Personalized Prep. They take time going over any problem I have and make sure I fully understand it rather than just getting the work done. Thanks to my tutor I improve so much in class. They also have food and drink for students to recharge, and a really cute dog too - Lincoln is a national treasure and must be cherished and protected at all cost! Highly recommend Personalized Prep if you want to do better academically!!!
I got to work with Sean and his team at Personalized Prep and my academic performance improves drastically thanks to them. Friendly, patient, and understanding people who will do their best to help you. Highly recommend
If you want to get into your dream school, Personalized Prep can help you. The way they go into details for every question you have is incredibly helpful, and they make sure you understand the problem rather than just simply being able to answer the question. My SAT score increases a lot and it would be impossible without their help.
All of the tutors are extremely helpful and great at what they do. My ACT score improved immensely from the countless practice tests and 1-on-1 tutor sessions. I had the chance to work with all of the tutors and they are all amazing. After I earned a 33 on my ACT, I wanted to continue with their company. Now they are helping me with my college applications and essays which is taking all of the stress off of me. Truly I cannot recommend this company enough. I worked with AR Academics, "their competitors," and there is absolutely no comparison. AR did not help me whatsoever and it was a group session of 30 instead of 1-on-1. If you are debating what tutoring service to pick, this is the right option without question.
