I brought my cat in here for an appointment on September 28 My cat mochi had tears coming down like squinting they checked and said they did not see anything but they prescribe some ointment called five days later it wasn’t working. They prescribed another eyedrop used it for six days condition wasn’t changed. Call them at least 3-4 times send them videos ask them what the next step would be since the medication prescribed wasn’t helping. Nobody called me back. I had to take my cat to ER last night. They told me there’s word under the cornea and they didn’t do much help neither for forwarded me to ophthalmologist and they’re not working on the weekend so tonight again I ended up having another ER because the eye has gotten worse shot completely. They told me at the ER last night the medication you prescribed should not be used with the condition of his eye. You only made this it worse for my cat!

This is my third dog that Presidio Way has cared for over the past 18 years. From the booking process straight through after care, Presidio Way staff and medical professionals have have always provided excellent service and a nurturing environment for my dogs. While some names and faces have changed at Presidio Way over the years, the ethic and caring ethos has not. I adore my current vet Kaila Helner, Maria in the office and - my first dog’s only reason for tolerating the vet - practice manager Amanda. As someone who has rescued three dogs and considers them family, Presidio Way has been an important part of their “village”.

Absolute lifesavers! We just found Koki’s new primary veterinarian.
I can’t say enough good things about Presidio Way Pet Hospital, especially Dr. Kaila Helmer.
We were supposed to fly internationally with our dog, Koki, but missed our flight because of a newly implemented USDA documentation requirement. After scrambling to contact nearly a dozen veterinary hospitals, we were struggling to find anyone who could help on such short notice.
Dr. Helmer responded to my email late that evening, understood exactly what we needed, and offered to see Koki first thing the following morning at 8 AM.
She and the team came through for us, completed the required examination and paperwork, and helped us get our travel plans back on track.
That level of responsiveness, compassion, and willingness to help a family they’d never met before speaks volumes about the kind of practice they’re running.
We were so impressed that we’ve decided to make Presidio Way Koki’s primary veterinary hospital going forward.
Thank you, Dr. Helmer and the entire Presidio Way team! You’ve earned our trust and our business for years to come. Highly recommend!

I have been bringing my dogs (& even a guinea pig!) to Presidio Way Vet Hospital for probably 20 years. The staff is super accommodating and thoughtful, especially Dr Helmer, who is now taking care of my 3rd dog. Each of my dogs have had different medical issues at different stages of their lives, and Dr Helmer has walked me through it all. She is calm, honest and practical whenever there is a decision to be made. Whether it is what food to feed your dog or something much more serious. I feel like I have a partner in my dog’s health care. The office is responsive and friendly and its services continue to grow. I highly recommend Presidio Way for top notch veterinary care and for the compassion the team has for pets and their owners.

Dr. Helmer and the entire team at Presidio Way Pet Hospital are truly exceptional. I have two cats who receive their care here, and my sister also brings her cat to the practice. We have consistently had such a positive experience with both the quality of care and the way Dr. Helmer and her team treat both their patients and their owners.
Dr. Helmer is incredibly patient, responsive, and reassuring. She has gone out of her way to respond to my questions via email, even outside of regular business hours and on weekends. She takes the time to explain things thoroughly, answers questions thoughtfully, and has such a calm and welcoming demeanor that immediately puts you at ease.
What I especially appreciate is that I never feel pressured into unnecessary procedures, tests, or expenses. Dr. Helmer provides clear, informative recommendations, explains the reasoning behind them, and allows you to make informed decisions about your pet’s care. Her approach feels both compassionate and refreshingly reasonable when it comes to pricing and treatment recommendations. You truly feel that the focus is on doing what is best for your pet, rather than maximizing the bill.
Presidio Way Pet Hospital is worth the drive across the city for us. Finding a veterinarian you genuinely trust with your pets is incredibly valuable, and I feel very fortunate to have found Dr. Helmer and her team. I cannot recommend them highly enough to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, compassionate, patient, and trustworthy veterinary practice.

Presidio Way is the absolute best! My pup has pretty bad chronic allergies, so we’re visiting fairly frequently but I appreciate Dr. Helmer, all of the other doctors, vet techs and staff SO much! They’re always transparent about costs, work to make sure I’m saving where I can, and they care about my baby Ziggy as much as I do. Visiting the office is always so nice and my shy pup loves the whole staff so much. I’m so grateful to them for their genuine care and incredible practice!!

We are incredibly grateful for the thoughtful, compassionate care Presidio Way has given our senior diabetic cat. The clinic is warm and welcoming, and the dedication of the entire team is clear. They have never asked us to leave a review, but the care they have given our cat made me want to write one!
Our cat has several overlapping health issues, and managing them together requires a lot of communication and adjustment. Presidio Way has consistently treated both her and us with patience and kindness. We are so grateful we found them. We only wish we had started her care there sooner.
Dr. Chatoian, Dr. Helmer, and Dr. Pujianto are incredibly knowledgeable about cats, and just as importantly, they truly listen. The same is true of their amazing vet techs and considerate administrative team. They take our concerns seriously, help us work through treatment changes when something is not working, and manage her care as a whole.
They have also gone above and beyond to make her care manageable at home, teaching us how to support her comfort and quality of life between visits. The team is responsive, and they have never pressured us into any procedure or medication. They have also never made us feel incapable or dismissed.
Most importantly, we feel that they genuinely care about whether she feels better. They pay attention not only to her illnesses, but also to her pain and comfort. They are always very sweet with her, check in on her, and follow up about her progress. Everyone who works there is genuinely kind, which means so much when you are worried about your pet. The clinic is also in a beautiful part of town, which makes stressful trips with a frightened cat a little easier.
When a pet’s care becomes complicated, having a team that communicates, takes your concerns seriously, and works through difficult problems alongside you means a lot. We feel very lucky that we found that at Presidio Way.

Dr. Helmer and the entire staff at Presidio Way are incredible and we wouldn’t want to take our dog any where else. Dr. Helmer is the most kind and caring, always answers our questions, and we know we are getting the absolute best care. Through emergencies and normal course of life, everyone in the office, especially Collin, has been so helpful and lovely. Five stars always!!!
