Always a fun time for the kids. You can feed the coy fish for 1$ a cup I believe. Huge hit with the kids.

The best pet store around! From freshwater fish to saltwater fish and small rodents to huge birds. They have a plethora of products and are very helpful to customers and answering questions about the care of any of your creatures
Love doing the special Howl-ween every year with my Dog and dressing up. It us a great community thing to do with our pets!
Absolutely better than going to the sea life aquarium...lol
Something has happened to Preuss Pet Store. I used to go there when I needed a zoo fix, a very cool place. This last time I was there evidence that something wasn't right was everywhere. Piles of pet supplies that the store uses for their animals just piled up, either in an unused fish tank or cage, do they not have storage where that stuff can be out of sight? (I'm not talking about the supply sale tent.) The isle where the small animal supplies were sold was cluttered with carts full of stuff that went who knew where. Cluttered, that was my first impression walking in. It didn't used to be that way. And the poor rabbit! Sitting in its own filth. Whoever thought blankets were the bedding of choice for a rabbit, must not know rabbits. It was sad. Even the fish tanks have suffered . The selection of fish has dropped significantly, as did the cleanliness of the tanks. If they maybe lowered their prices, people might actually shop there and they could afford the staff needed to care for the place. Just my take. Went to Pet Smart on Saginaw St instead.
My visit to the store was just ok. The cashier was super sweet but was never asked if I needed anything in the fish area. They were too busy talking amongst themselves when I was clearly wanting fish.
I'm a saltwater hobbyist (reef tank) and absolutely love this store. Preuss is my default LFS (local fish store) because of their huge selection of live animals. They carry the higher-end products, which is why their prices may seem high. If you are looking for cheaper stuff, head to Meijer or PetSmart. They are serious about what they do. ;) Like anything else, make sure you do some research before making purchases. You should educate yourself and not rely on a retail store to do it all for you. I read through the other reviews, and most of the 1's & 2's should be hitting the more casual hobby stores (or Amazon.com) if they want cheap stuff. The rest just seem like they're looking for something complain about. Preuss is always busy, don't confuse busy employees for something else. Also, be skeptical of anonymous reviews. ;)
Bad store very rude and disrespectful
Excellent customer service from the reptile section. Did get to explore tge entire store this time.
HORRIBLE PLACE TO BUY BULK FOOD AND HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I found LIVE BUGS in my hamsters food, that’s NOT supposed to be there in my 5 years of hamster ownership. Pathetic response from Alex, the manager in CHARGE OF THE FOOD. I’m outraged to say the least.
