An excellent place for a short walk with children. The aquarium and the primates particularly caught the children's attention.
Make sure to be there for the sea Lion show
Beautiful small zoo. The sea lion show was well done. A few animals inside the one building were off exhibit I guess for cleaning. Saw the only dingo briefly. The red pandas and otters were amusing. The bamboos were very active and interesting to watch for an extended period of time.
I am scared of animals i do not recommend going there if you are scared like me
It's ok. It's not expensive so that's the plus. But it's not got too much and we have yet to see anything new. Wish it would have some more interaction besides the feeding. Some of the animals are not in great shape and lot of animals seem to not be visible at all. Best part is barn and baboons. Oh there are peacocks walking around which is cute but then all the staff are just telling everyone not to touch them so you have to keep policing your kids who obviously want to touch them. May as well keep them behind the glass. If you've seen the seal lion show once you've seen it all. My kids can recite it by now.
Was there today very nice for children. But one lady worker didn't stop screaming at the kids for whatever they or other people did, that scared off my kids which were traumatized and crying for the sin of visiting a zoo. Please address this, children come to enjoy not to get yellings every 2 minutes, and if anyone does something not good there is a nice and professional manner to address it, thank you.
Really fun, low-key spot — perfect for a couple hours with kids or even just a chill afternoon. Not huge, but it's well laid out and easy to get through without feeling rushed. Sea lion feedings are a highlight, and the petting zoo area is a nice touch for younger kids. Taking off a star because it's pretty small compared to other NYC zoos, so if you're expecting a full-day experience it might feel limited. Some exhibits could use updates too. Great budget-friendly option though, especially if you're already at Prospect Park. Solid pick for families with little ones
Had an amazing time with a group of mom’s. Plenty of things to see and wheelchair/stroller accessible. Went during the beginning of the weekday, less crowded. Got to see the peacocks roam around and feed some animals. Bring cash or coins there’s dispenser machine in order to feed the animals. Overall my baby and I had a blast.☺️
Goats are my favorite
