This was the best photographer I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with. It’s taken me awhile to be able to sit and pick from the photos she took because our dog passed the day after the photos were taken and it’s been very hard for me. Rachelle is lovely! She was recommended by the owner of our reception venue, and it was well-deserved! She made my partner and I feel so at ease, even though it was our first time having a professional photoshoot together. I deeply appreciated her friendly, cheerful attitude and professionalism! The pictures came out absolutely beautiful! Post-reception update: We are so grateful to Rachelle for capturing our event so beautifully. From the very beginning, she was warm, friendly, and incredibly easy to work with, and on the ceremony+reception day she fit into everything so naturally that we never felt like we had to worry about the photography. She worked closely with our day-of coordinator to make sure there was a clear photography timeline, which helped the entire evening stay organized and relaxed. She also has a wonderful ability to gather people together for group photos quickly and kindly, even with a large crowd. Beyond the people, she captured so many beautiful details of the venue itself, which we’re especially thankful for now that we have those memories preserved. Rachelle’s pricing was very reasonable, especially considering the quality of her work and how much care she puts into the experience. She is patient, supportive, genuinely kind, and clearly loves what she does. Rachelle Erickson was absolutely wonderful for our engagement photoshoot at the Woodmark Hotel waterfront in Kirkland. even though it was *cold* out, she showed up with the warmest energy (and literally kept us going by grabbing us coffee from a nearby shop. such a thoughtful touch). we also had a dress appointment right after our session, and Rachelle was incredibly mindful of our time constraints. she kept everything moving smoothly without ever making us feel rushed, which we really appreciated. she’s genuinely kind, lovely to be around, and super easy to trust behind the camera. her posing direction was clear and confident, and she really knows how to turn those poses into great shots. when we were a little slower figuring things out, she was supportive and patient the whole time. no awkward pressure, just encouragement and calm guidance. bonus points: she loves dogs (instant win), and it gave us even more confidence knowing she has experience with our wedding venue and is actually a preferred vendor there. We’d recommend Rachelle in a heartbeat to anyone looking for a photographer who’s talented, professional, and truly caring. POST-RECEPTION UPDATE: Rachelle did a great job photographing our wedding reception. She was friendly, easy to work with, and coordinated well with our day-of coordinator so the photography fit smoothly into the timeline. She was also really good at getting everyone together for group photos without it becoming a huge ordeal, and she made sure to get plenty of great shots of the venue itself too. We were impressed by how quickly she got edited photos back to us afterward. Her pricing was very reasonable compared to a lot of wedding photographers we looked at, and she was professional throughout the whole process. We don’t have dogs ourselves, but if you’re a couple who does, she’s clearly very comfortable with them and goes out of her way to accommodate them as part of the experience. Definitely recommend her.
We were ultimately happy with how our wedding photos turned out, and Rachelle did a wonderful job capturing a lot of meaningful moments from the day. As people who aren't particularly comfortable in front of a camera and have some self-image struggles, we were both pleasantly surprised by how many of the final images we genuinely liked. She found good angles I didn't know I had, and helped me see myself as a beautiful bride the pictures. That said, the overall experience wasn't quite as smooth as I would have hoped. We had communicated from the beginning that we weren't particularly interested in engagement photos and were working within a limited budget, but we felt pressured repeatedly to book an engagement session (and purchase engagement photos) despite explaining this several times. The engagement shoot also required us to travel a couple hours rather than meeting somewhere more central, which added to the inconvenience. On the wedding day itself, there were a few choices that made things more stressful than necessary. Rachelle took great care to work with our schedule and prioritize the specific photos that I was really hoping for. However, some portraits were taken with us facing directly into the setting sun, which left several people squinting, and we had to scramble a bit to remove goose poop stains from my dress after being directed to walk through dirty areas 30 minutes before the ceremony. The wedding gallery was also delivered a bit later than we had originally expected, but that was understandable given the sheer volume of photos we received. Overall, though, we did receive a large collection of photos that we are happy to have and will treasure for many years to come, and I think the final images are stronger than my experience with the process itself. I'm not particularly familiar with how professional photography usually operates, so four stars feels like the fairest rating I can give.
