I’ve known John for a long time and he really takes so much pride in his work, it’s rare. Also, I’ve seen him work so hard to take care of his customers and sometimes his customers can be difficult but I’ve seen him be so patient and try so hard to accommodate people. John may be a guy, honestly, that’s patiently worked harder to make his customers happier than anyone I’ve ever known. It’s one thing I have always respected about him and even tried to learn from him. I have a plumbing business so I understand how difficult the trade work can be and dealing with customers. We both take pride in our work but Johns floors really come out like art. I’ve seen him over the years work on houses belonging to famous people and extremely high end houses that most people wouldn’t believe existed to basic apartments that property owners needed cleaned up. This is a country humble guy with a witty city mind and an eye for perfection. But one thing is he really likes people around him to be happy and this character quality definitely rolls over into his business dealings. Be patient, these guys are busy, and you can see why with the amazing quality of the work and all of us customers for life sharing on social media, to help you with your project. It took a few calls to connect with John, and I am delighted that I did. We had John quote us to restore our flooring, including repairing and installations of where there was no hardwood flooring (we tore out a built in, and one closet had no hardwood). There was dog pee stains, ground in grime, some termite damage, lots of holes from over zealous threading of cables over the 100 years of the homes time on earth - our home we had just recently purchased...needed help. We discovered after ripping out a built in, that our flooring...was lying on top of two other floors that were never removed. Wild. I cannot compliment the team enough, Luciano is a true craftsman - he cares. Not only that, he is very friendly and enthusiastic, he took time to explain to me the process and even created a cool little side by side sample of stains for us to find what we wanted. Honestly, Luciano...thank you - just phenomenal. Communication and invoicing was easy and both John and Luciano followed through and were always available/present when they said they would be. Got hardwood floors resurfaced and stained by them. Liked their professionalism and quality of work. They stuck to schedule and updated me on the status along the way. The resurfaced floorsl look like new. Martin, the person who performed the work was prompt, respectful and responsive.

I have original flooring in my 1930s house. The slats are as thin as they can possibly be now. They were able to recommend an extremely hard coating to protect the floor. The work was done timely and professionally and it looks great.

I've known John Rouse for years. Seen many of the floors he's installed and or repaired/restored. His work speaks for itself. I've also seen him deal with customers and personally seen him go above and beyond to make sure his customers are happy at the end of the day. I've listened to him try to be accommodating to customers and work hard to meet various needs of customers. I have referred him to friends and seen the beautiful results of his work. An upright guy.

Floors shine like new. Knowledgeable and experienced team. They diagnosed the state of the flooring easily, and we discussed a number of options before settling on a clean/buff/recoat. Competitive value for that service, they also patched a few gaps in the floors and cleaned some errant paint.

We used RYF to restore the Douglas Fir subfloor in our living and dining rooms and Oak in our hallway and bedrooms. We were very impressed with the final result! John, the owner, and Luciano, the lead on the project, were both extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. Both took the time to thoroughly educate and explain to us the work and cost of restoring our hardwood floors and installing baseboards with quarter rounds. John even took the time to call me on a Sunday morning to make sure I understood everything. Luciano was such a hard worker, even showing up at 4 am the last day to apply the final coat to the floors (we weren’t living in the house at the time). Luciano and his team worked through the weekend, too, to ensure a timely finish. I never felt like they were rushed, though. Painters came in immediately once the floors were dry so we don’t have final pictures of the floors yet (because they are covered to protect), but we will update this review with the end results. Overall, I would highly recommend RYF to anyone looking to bring old hardwoods back to life. I’ve already started to give out John’s number!

I knew I wanted to replace or refinish whatever wood floors were under the laminate wood floors in my 1920’s bungalow with addition. So many possibilities as to what we might find, what it would cost, what type of product, method of installation, etc. It was a real challenge. I got quotes from three different contractors with widely different prices, materials and methods of installation. When I first called John I felt he was experienced and knew what he was talking about. He gave me some ballpark $/sf figures for removing, replacing, restoring and refinishing, which held true to the end. He also helped me understand the options and what each of those would entail in terms or time and disruption. He helped me reach an informed decision and carried out the execution of the plan beautifully. I am 100% pleased with the outcome of the project and would highly recommend his team with his wife and his installer Luciano (and my dogs are pleased too and loved Luciano). I feel I got a top-notch floor at a fair price.

Really enjoyed working with John and his team through our floor rehab process. We operated on a tight timeline trying to coordinate multiple contractors for various phases of work and I appreciated that they were able to get their work done according to the agreed upon timeline. The team was transparent throughout the process on any suspected or actual issues and kept me updated on progress. I particularly appreciated their thoughtful input in developing a customized color to match our newly installed floors in another area of the home. I have had the opportunity to use Restore Your Floor on several rehab projects that I’ve done in the Long Beach area. Some of the floors were in better shape than others but they all needed help.
