River Road Veterinary Hospital

My first visit was a few days ago. The entire staff made an amazing impression. I walked out with more information than I could have even thought to ask for. They answered questions before I asked. Extremely happy with the care and service. The puppy packet was a huge help as I’ve not had a puppy in over 30 years! Update: My baby is now right over a year old. Everyone is always very attentive and patient with my large breed, she's very anxious at the vet, they take their time with her. The patience with my dog is appreciated! Update2: recently added another large breed pup to our clan. We had some health scares with her, and Dr. Ben and Dr. Trahan could not have been more helpful and thorough. With their help, we were able to get our sweet pup back to excellent health. Highly recommend RRVH! Update 3: My girls are now 4.5 and 3.5. We still love RRVH.

Dr Trahan and Abby were so attentive and gentle with Mila and Wrigley, answered all of my questions. I feel a lot better about their health after Tuesdays visit. Thank y’all so much!

My husband and I have been using River Road Veterinary Hospital for several years now. Our dogs usually see Dr. Courtney, the owner, but we have never had a bad experience when seeing Dr. Trahan or Dr. Ben! The staff at the front desk always greet me and my dogs with smiles and lots of compliments and pets and the technicians and vets have always been on time for our appointments. We've had a few situations through the years that were cause for concern but not sure if it was a MedVet level emergency situation, and they have always squeezed us in whenever possible and helped either lay my fears to rest (overprotective dog mom, ha) or help me to feel like I'm making an informed decision on the next best steps to keep or get my dogs healthy! Veterinary medicine has gone up in price the last few years and I find that their price for services is comparable to what others I know pay at other locations, so no complaints there at all. This last visit was to check out a puppy we adopted about 2 weeks ago who gave us a little scare, and Dr. Trahan took the time and attention I needed but I know I wouldn't have gotten with some vets I've brought my pets to in the past considering by the time of the appointment, our puppy decided he was feeling A OK again! And Pickles absolutely loved every single staff member he saw there. When CeCe stepped out of the exam room, he sat politely and patiently waiting for his new best friend to come back and give him so more spray cheese and love. I genuinely recommend this veterinary hospital for your general veterinary needs and appreciate the whole team. You can tell how much they care about the pets they see and go above and beyond. Especially Tori, a long time vet technician with so much amazing experience and compassion for the work that she does. Thanks RRVH.

Extreme empathy, excitement, then excellent care from the entire staff. Y'all understood why I said Thank You for the sympathy card for Thumper. Then everyone was so happy to meet GIRL! And Bennett had an excellent visit. Especially appreciated his mani-pedi. Y'all are the very best.

We have been going to the River Road Veterinary clinic for 44 years and can safely say that it is the very best we have ever dealt with and could not even think about going anywhere else. The service that these good folks deliver is nothing less than phenomenal . We have Great Pyrenees LGD's, working dogs,(4), We also live in Plaquemines parish, South of Belle Chasse. The only Vet clinic they have ever been to is this one. The dogs love going there and feel that all there are their buddies. The staff, the veterinarians, and all who work there are 100% fantastic. The services that they have provided us with over the years are always spot on. All of our animals are fixed and have been treated there with no problems. All of the Veterinarians are the best and the one that Our dogs see the most and we consider to be our go to guy is Dr. Ben Brignac.He is so through and caring with them. They all love him and consider him as part of our family. I could go on but the whole operation, Pawlins grooming , the Vet clinic and boarding facilities are the very best I have ever seen. It is over 30 miles from our place and going there is worth the drive. A few years ago. Transporters who were transporting some other Great Pyrenees Puppy's to another state and were coming through Louisiana. The Breeder in Missouri called us and asked if we knew any reputable Vets in the area because one of the pups had a life threatening issue. Without hesitation we said River Road clinic. It did not look good. My wife and I ran across the river that night with the thought in mind that the puppy was going to die, and we being "PYRENTS", were going to be there with him when he passed. It was after hours and Dr. Wheeler had been called in. When we got there we followed the trail of her discarded purse, keys etc. As she ran in and started to attend to the puppy. I picked up all her stuff and put it on the desk in the back. She saved that pups life that night and he went on to become a well loved, trained, service dog that was over 130 lbs. in his state, Specializing in Autistic children. The only thing I regret about the River Road Vet clinic is that I cannot give them more than five stars. Chester and Libby Wallace.

Madison and Dr Scott were amazing! The facility is state of the art, very clean and welcoming. They do complimentary nail trimming which was a surprise. Our dog is a rescue and extremely cautious of everything but they won her over with treats and loving. They even got down in the floor with her! Madison was very impressive with her patience and understanding with Millie. Highly recommend!!

We’ve always had such a wonderful experience at this clinic! The facility is clean, welcoming, and the staff are always so warm and friendly. The doctor is incredibly thorough, patient, and genuinely takes the time to make sure you understand everything and feel comfortable. Taylor Baum always goes above and beyond to make sure our fur baby is well taken care of and treated with plenty of cuddles and love. 🥰 You can truly tell that everyone here cares about the animals they’re treating, and that means so much as a pet parent. We’re so grateful for the care and kindness we’ve received every time we visit!

Everyone there plays a part in making this an exceptional service. The receptionists and adminatators are always pleasant and accommodating. The technicians actually love animals and will treat your pet like it's a privilege to spend time with them. The Vets are willing to go the extra mile to ensure compent, compassionate care. My canine companion was misdiagnosed by an emergency vet and River Road listened to what I experienced with my pet and figured out what was going on. Her case was unusual and even required an out-of-state consultation, but River Road made sure that I was informed and comfortable every step of the way. Exceptional business.
