This place is a hidden gem! Amazing store with an even better staff. Their selection of music to choose from is impeccable and their guitars are beautiful, definitely worth the visit if you’re in the Livonia area, you will leave with a smile on your face. Garuanteed!

Very cool (somewhat niche) brick and mortar space that sells musical instruments/gear (mainly guitars and basses), offers lessons, and has a nice supply of vinyl in several genres (that's what drew me to their doorstep). Amongst the vinyl bins, there are more than a handful of rare, OG pressings of select metal/punk/hardcore titles, and there's a little stash of Audiophile vinyl. Feels like a very easy "hang out" space, and all the chatter I heard between staff and their customers was fun, easy, and very welcoming. And a big "thumbs up!" to Lauren for squashing Hanson's "MmmBop" promptly from the in-store playlist.

I had a housefire and a Squier Jazz bass guitar I had bought from RCMC was burnt. I contacted Dave and asked him what he thought could be done. His answer was basically, bring her in and lets triage her. So I did, and dave called me a bit later with some miraculous news: much of the internals still worked. So Dave got to work and put some serious love and work into her. He got my bass not only repaired and functional again, but was super communicative and empathetic and just a delight to work with throughout the whole process. 10/10 would recommend RCMC in general and Dave in specific to anyone who needs a setup or repair or restoration. The rest of the staff are excellent as well. Cannot thank Rock City Music Company enough.
From Florida visiting family and was brought to the store by my Brother because I needed strings, clean store #1, staff was very welcoming, found everything I needed strings,bought some picks and a t-shirt too while I was there, good selection of guitars! Would definitely go back! 🤘🎸🎶
I have had two guitars set-up here and have been pleased both times. Great action, no buzzing, and my frets are absolutely shined up like a mirror. This most recent time, I switched to a lower tuning and the associate seemed to have good knowledge and I appreciated his string recommendation. It was also done sooner than they initially quoted which is always a plus.
Stopped by while in town for a wedding. The guy working was nice and helpful. A nice selection of guitars. Very solid vinyl selection. Love the pinball machines.
